Join Tissington Craft Fair on 9th and 10th May 2024 for the first two markets to be held during Well Dressing week!

Immerse yourself in the natural beauty and historic charm of Tissington Village, located just a short drive away from Ashbourne in the heart of the Derbyshire Peak District.  We are excited to bring together a diverse collection of art and carefully handcrafted pieces over two exciting and inspiring days.

Discover an array of artistic talent

In addition to the captivating well dressings, our craft fair will feature a diverse selection of handmade goods including jewellery, pottery, textiles, and woodwork, crafted by talented artisans.

Our three-day event promises a captivating journey through 11 thoughtfully curated stalls that showcase both traditional and contemporary products. Visitors can talk to the makers who will share the stories and inspiration behind their work, which makes for an interactive and enriching experience for all.

Enrich Your Experience in Tissington

Come along and relax in the characterful picture-perfect village of Tissington.  A unique location that truly embodies the essence of peaceful rural life and remains unspoilt by the modern world.

Well Dressing is a tradition that dates back centuries, involving the decoration of wells with natural materials such as flower petals, leaves, and seeds, creating breathtaking mosaic-like designs. Visitors can witness this incredible craftsmanship first hand and learn about the history and techniques behind this unique art form.

As you explore, consider enhancing your visit by experiencing the cosy ambiance and traditional food served at Herbert’s Fine English Tearoom.  If you love gardening, don’t miss Tissington Nursery where you’ll find a variety of plants and can get advice from their very knowledgeable owners and staff.  You may also want to follow your nose and enjoy On a Wick and a Prayer, where you’ll find unique handmade candles with each one being meticulously hand-poured to produce unique and beautiful scents that will enrich any space.

Meet Our Makers at Tissington Craft Fair ·

At our carefully curated market you will find a changing selection of makers each time you visit.  From the artist Ian Harrison’s  captivating nature inspired artwork to the mesmerising oxides used by the Joyful Potter and Sazzi Creations’ colourful textiles to the cute mixed media jewellery by Wear it Quirky, to name just a few. Each of the makers at Tissington Craft Fair has a unique story of skill and originality. Explore the background behind each piece and take home not only a purchase but also the passion, dedication and a love of creation from the artisan behind it.

Tissington Craft Fair Venue: Tissington Village Hall

You will find Tissington Craft Fair at the village hall, which is located in the heart of the village and directly facing the duck pond.  With outside seating provided why not take some time to sit and enjoy the hall’s beautiful setting, which offers a peaceful backdrop for our well-loved market and providing a warm and inviting place for everyone.  We offer free admission to every market and feel free to bring your furry companions along for the day!

Accessibility and facilities at Tissington Craft Fairs

At Tissington Craft Fairs, we are dedicated to creating an inclusive and accommodating environment for all of our visitors.  To ensure accessibility for individuals with limited mobility or wheelchair users, we offer an alternative entrance that bypasses the main steps along with accessible toilet facilities.

Parking and Transportation During Well Dressing Week

During the Well Dressing week, a one-way system is in operation for vehicles coming into the village. A different entrance into the village is utilized, located just 0.5 miles from the main gates, and is clearly signposted on the A515.

A small charge is applicable for parking in the village, and all funds raised from parking fees go to support local charities. Additionally, the village provides designated disabled parking for those in need.

Upon parking and entering the village on foot, simply head past Tissington Hall and keep left. Once you reach the duck pond, turn left, and you’ll find the village hall located on the left-hand side.

For those utilizing bus services, the High Peak 441 or 442 services conveniently run between Ashbourne and Buxton with allocated stops in the village.
