Ashford Mill was voted the best self catering accommodation in the Peak District 2020 by Peak District Marketing, and best conservation project in the Peak District by the Peak District Planning Authority 2018, and it is very clear to see why! It’s an easy 5 minute stroll into the picture-perfect village of Ashford in the Water, where you’ll find two country inns, a tea room and a village shop, only a leisurely 30 minute walk along the river into the ancient market town of Bakewell, and just a 7 minute drive to the fabulous Chatsworth House! Ashford Mill is dog friendly too!

Ashford Mill Accommodation

Ashford Mill is much more than your average Peak District self-catering cottage.  This truly beautiful Grade II-listed property dates back almost 1,000 years and was mentioned in the Domesday Book of 1086.  Lovingly converted to retain its character and identity with original industrial mill workings, yet equipped with all modern luxuries, it’s now an idyllic holiday property for up to 8 guests.

It has even been featured on BBC Countryfile and in ‘House Beautiful’ magazine, and it’s so easy to see why. How’s this for an entrance!
