Beautiful Holiday Cottage in a Fantastic Location

Ava Lily Cottage, a beautiful, newly refurbished cottage on the outskirts of Tideswell, is in the ideal location to experience village life in the Peak District! It’s just a five-minute walk to the centre of Tideswell, where you’ll find everything you could hope for from a bustling village, including butchers, bakers, general stores, fish & chip shops, tea rooms, a luxury restaurant and even three village pubs!

This gorgeous cottage sleeps four people in two stylish bedrooms, with views over the breathtaking surrounding countryside that Ava Lily Cottage so proudly boasts. Those same impressive views can be admired from the private garden with terrace, and direct access to a children’s play area. You’re bound to love it!

Living Accommodation

As soon as you enter Ava Lily Cottage you’ll love its traditional charm and modern comforts. The lounge is cosy yet spacious, with timber beams and a timber fireplace surrounding the electric fire, perfect for snuggling up after a day exploring this fabulous area. There is plenty of seating with two sofas, where you can get comfortable and relax watching your favourite shows on the smart TV. There is also a lovely little window chair, ideal for people watching.

The dining kitchen at Ava Lily Cottage is delightful! Spacious, modern, crisp and clean! It’s fully equipped with everything you could need to enjoy a home-from-home stay, including oven, hob, microwave, fridge, Nespresso coffee machine, and day to day culinary essentials. There is also a sociable dining table for four people with modern overhead lighting, creating a really special place to dine with family and friends.

Ava Lily Cottage also has the added bonus of a really handy utility room, which houses a washer/dryer, dishwasher and large freezer, and has plenty of room for pushchairs, coats and those muddy walking boots. There’s also a downstairs toilet and shower.

Bedrooms With a View

Upstairs at Ava Lily Cottage are two delightful bedrooms, sleeping four people. The first is a double, with a chest of drawers and a small amount of hanging space. The second is a twin room, which can be linked to create a super king sized bed, again with chest of drawers.

Each of the rooms have been stylishly decorated to create a really relaxing space, ideal for gazing out of the window at those wonderful views.

Also on the first floor is a luxurious modern bathroom with toilet, sink, bath and overhead shower.

Fabulous Garden and Terrace

Traditional village cottages don’t always have the luxury of such a fabulous outdoor space, but Ava Lily Cottage really does have it all. Enjoy a morning cuppa listening to the bird song in the pretty garden, with terrace and tremendous views over the countryside. With patio area, parasol and barbecue, it’s also the ideal place to relax in an evening with a little alfresco dining! There’s even direct access from the garden to a children’s play park! (Please note the garden is accessible via steps with handrail leading up to the garden area).

Outside there is also a secure garage, ideal for those wishing to bring bikes.

Location

Tideswell has all the village amenities you could wish for, just a five minute walk away from the cottage. If you’re visiting in May be sure to look out for the annual food festival, with delicious, locally-produced food and drink and other activities. Tideswell is also home to the ’Cathedral of the Peak’, a magnificent church that is a visitor attraction in its own right.

A short walk takes you to Litton, one of the prettiest villages in the Peak District. It has another gorgeous village pub with seating overlooking the village green, and a shop/tearoom owned and run by local residents.

The surrounding countryside accessible from the doorstep of Ava Lily Cottage is just wonderful, with limestone walls, farm life and wildlife to see. Tideswell Dale, Cressbrook Dale and Millers Dale are just some of the places within walking distance, and the Monsal Trail is close too, perfect for cycling.

A short drive can take you to the delightful spa town of Buxton, or to other favourite destinations such as Castleton, Chatsworth House and Eyam.

Pretty much central to the whole of the Peak District, Ava Lily Cottage is the perfect base from which to explore – and you probably won’t want to leave!
