Visitors can experience this amazing setting by dining in Barlow Woodseats Hall’s Restaurant, which is often open every Friday and Sunday, or by staying in one of their delightful cottages.

Picture the most incredible, rustic backdrop, with flagstone floors, timber beams and original stonework, all individually styled with elegant drapes, stylish table décor, pretty fairy lights, and elegant candles to create the most magical wedding setting!

Outside, Barlow Woodseats Hall is just as special. With breathtaking rolling countryside all around and landscaped grounds with blossom trees, ponds, marquees and intimate corners, the space here is completely different. It will provide the perfect setting for your wedding service and, of course, the wedding photographs!

Whether you’re looking for an intimate venue or something more extravagant, whether you choose traditional or contemporary styling, Barlow Woodseats Hall will help you create your perfect, individual, country wedding. Barlow Woodseat Hall’s impressive long barn and pretty gardens enable weddings to be held inside or out! More intimate weddings for up to 50 guests are held on Fridays, whilst large gatherings of up to 100 guests are held on Saturdays – with the option to stay for the whole weekend!

The two holiday cottages, sleeping a total of 16 guests in 8 ensuite rooms, are included within the wedding package, providing overnight accommodation for guests. Should you require extra accommodation there’s also a fabulous glamping field where bell tents can be provided, complete with comfortable beds. For those who would like complete exclusivity of Barlow Woodseats Hall, then the whole site and holiday cottages can be booked for the entire weekend. There is also a beautiful bridal suite now available for the special couple too!

The onsite wedding coordinator at Barlow Woodseats Hall will provide a first-class service to help you to organise everything from decorations to music to food! Using locally-sourced ingredients, the expert chefs can work with you to create your own menu, whether that be canapes, a formal wedding breakfast or evening buffet. Their bespoke outdoor grill and wood-fired pizzas are firm favourites in the evenings! 

Remember – it doesn’t need to be a wedding – Barlow Woodseats Hall can be booked for any event, and will definitely have the wow factor for all occasions!

Corporate Events

Barlow Woodseats Hall also makes the ideal venue for corporate events, whether that be large parties of up to 100, training and away days, or small meetings. 

The Longbarn, the longest original cruck barn, is ideal for business meetings, conferences, and dining. In addition, the two onsite cottages with large dining areas provide both accommodation for guests and the perfect conference rooms for smaller meetings. The inhouse team can also organise any catering requirements you require, from teas and coffees to relaxed business lunches or a celebratory evening meal.

Outside there are also several secluded spaces, perfect for smaller meetings in the warmer months and team building exercises. With 11 acres to enjoy, there’s also lots of space to take part in a variety of outdoor experiences, which Barlow Woodseats Hall can arrange using external experience providers. A collection of activities can be arranged to suit your group size, budget and needs, from orienteering, bush crafting and gin tasting, to name just a few. With such close proximity to the Peak District National Park, there are many other outdoor pursuits that can be experienced, such as rock climbing, water sports, or simply a leisurely countryside walk from the door.

With excellent transport links, and a location just 20 minutes from Junction 29 on the M1, Barlow Woodseats Hall is the perfect place to hold your out of office event with a difference!

Weekend Dining

Visitors to the Peak District can also enjoy all that Barlow Woodseats Hall has to offer, dining in their fabulous restaurant and enjoying their beautiful grounds, open every Friday and Sunday when weddings are not being hosted. Using the finest local ingredients and a bespoke outdoor grill, the dedicated chefs have produced the most distinctive dining experience and menu. 

On Friday evenings, guests at Barlow Woodseats Hall can enjoy an inspiring tapas menu in the summer and delicious pie nights in the winter months, either in the stunning Longbarn or al fresco style at the garden tables in the beautiful grounds. There are intimate, undercover dining areas and exclusive private dining beside the pond. Sundays of course are all about the roast – a delicious three meat platter with fluffy Yorkshire puddings and all the trimmings, following by mouth watering desserts. 

Look out for monthly pop-up events too, hosted by more top chefs!

Holiday Cottages & Bell Tent Glamping

There are two gorgeous Longbarn cottages at Barlow Woodseats Hall, sleeping 16 people in total, so ideal for wedding guests and colleagues attending corporate events. Both cottages are located within the barn’s courtyard, so both have close proximity to the function room and access to the gorgeous grounds.

The first is Johnnygate Grange, a fabulous cottage sleeping 10 people in 5 ensuite rooms. Here you will find 4 double rooms and 1 twin/super-king. One of the double rooms is on the ground floor, with wet room, so ideal for less able guests. 

The second is The Long Barn, sleeping 6 people in 3 ensuite rooms. Here there’s a king, a double and a twin/super-king. 

Each of the cottages has been styled and decorated in keeping with the rustic charm of Barlow Woodseats Hall, and both have a spacious living room and large dining kitchen.

The cottages can be booked mid-week and at weekends, and form part of the wedding/corporate packages. Onsite catering can be provided at guests’ request.

For group gatherings requiring extra accommodation, the glamping field can be booked complete with gorgeous bell tents. Each of the bell tents include low frame beds, memory foam mattresses and fair trade interior.

Barlow Woodseats Hall is ideally situated between Barlow and Millthorpe, both of which have an excellent pub and restaurant. Each of these villages are just a couple of miles away, a lovely stroll in the summer months and only a short taxi ride away in the cooler months. 

With the Peak District National Park on the doorstep, there are numerous walks from the door, and so many outdoor pursuits to enjoy in the Peak District itself. Hire bikes from Hassop and enjoy a traffic free route on the Monsal Trail, hike on the nearby edges of Curbar and Baslow, or enjoy a stroll in picturesque villages such as Hathersage and Eyam.

Just 20 minutes from Junction 29 of the M1, and just 15 minutes from Chesterfield Railway Station, Barlow Woodseats Hall is perfectly located to enjoy the stunning countryside that surrounds it, and easily reached for all those who wish to experience it!
