Crow Pie Cottage is a beautiful countryside retreat for up to 15 people, located on the edge of the Peak District National Park in the pretty town of Matlock Bath. Standing in 2 acres of its own private woodland, with wonderful gardens to the front and rear, it’s perfect for soaking up summer evenings in the fresh air.  Crow Pie Cottage is peaceful and quiet, yet close to a wide range of amenities locally, including pubs, restaurants and visitor attractions.

Crow Pie Cottage: Accommodation


Crow Pie Cottage is perfect for larger families or groups.  It has five bedrooms with a further downstairs snug/occasional bedroom, sleeping up to 15 people. 

Bedroom 1 – family room (1 double bed & 1 set of bunk beds)
Bedroom 2 – family room (1 double bed & 1 single bed)
Bedroom 3 – twin room
Bedroom 4 – twin room
Bedroom 5 – family room (1 double bed & 1 single bed)
Bedroom 6 / Snug – 1 double sofa-bed (fully sprung)

All the bedrooms at Crow Pie Cottage are made up with duvets and pillows. Egyptian cotton bed linen and a large Egyptian cotton bath towel is provided for each guest. A travel cot is available on request, suitable for infants up to 15kg.  (Please note that bed linen is not supplied for the travel cot, as most people prefer to bring their own.)

All the bedrooms have a radio/iPod dock/CD player. 


There is a large family bathroom with a P-shaped bath and over-bath electric power shower, as well as a vanity unit and WC.

There is also a separate shower room with a large walk-in shower, basin and WC.

Downstairs, there is a further cloakroom with WC and basin.

Living Areas

The cosy, comfortable lounge has everything you’ll need to relax after a day out exploring the Peak District countryside.  Snuggle up in front of the log-burning stove (initial supplies of logs, sticks and firelighters are supplied) and get back to basics with the large selection of books and board games.


Or, if you (or your children) prefer more technology, enjoy the 40″ LCD HD TV with Sky+ including Sky Movies, Sky Sports and on demand TV.  There’s also a DVD player with a large selection of over 80 DVDs.  In the Snug there’s a separate radio/iPod dock/CD player, plus a Freeview TV, DVD player and a Chromecast for mirroring your smartphone or Tablet onto the big screen.  

Free unlimited wireless broadband Internet access is provided.  Mobile phone coverage is generally good in the area.

Cooking and Dining

Crow Pie Cottage has a well-equipped kitchen, perfect for cooking up a feast. There’s an electric fan oven with gas hob, a dishwasher, fridge-freezer, a larder fridge, microwave and a slow cooker.  There’s also a comprehensive range of utensils and cooking equipment.  General items such as tea, coffee, sugar, salt and pepper etc are all provided on arrival.

The dining room at Crow Pie Cottage has a large oak farmhouse table which (when used with extension) is big enough for 15 people to dine together.  Perfect for that special celebratory meal, or for planning the next day’s adventures.  Two high chairs are available on request.  There is a stereo system in the dining room with an MP3 aux lead for connecting iPods etc.


French doors in the dining room at Crow Pie Cottage lead out to a sunny patio area, with a barbecue and outdoor furniture.  To the front there’s a lawned garden with mature shrubs and trees, and to the rear is a sloping lawned area with 2 acres of woodland for you to explore and enjoy. 


The beautiful front and rear gardens are perfect for soaking up the sun, and offer breathtaking views over the Derwent Valley and out to Riber Castle.    

There is private car parking by the house for 3-4 standard-sized cars, and further free parking less than a minute’s walk away.

Crow Pie Cottage is situated in the pretty town of Matlock Bath, in the heart of the Derwent Valley, on the edge of the Peak District National Park.  The town is wonderfully picturesque, with steep sided hills, dense woodland and pretty houses that follow the river down into the valley.

Matlock Bath has plenty to offer every visitor, with independent shops, lovely riverside walks and some of the area’s best visitor attractions, including the Heights of Abraham and Gulliver’s Kingdom.

Only a short drive from Matlock Bath you’ll find a number of other great places to visit, including the pretty town of Bakewell and the beautiful stately homes of Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall.
