“This is a lovely place to stay. Jo is unfailingly helpful and friendly and adds lots of little thoughtful touches – a torch to find the way home, fresh milk in fridge in the guests’ conservatory, cake in the afternoon – and the breakfasts are simply wonderful. Good food, imaginative or traditional, served beautifully. Thank you.”

Hathersage B&B location

Hathersage is a wonderful place to base yourself! Located in the heart of the Hope Valley, there’s no shortage of activities to occupy you here.  Walkers, climbers and cyclists have long been drawn to the striking gritstone edges, miles of footpaths and bridleways and stunning views at every turn in this part of the Peak District.  You can choose from any number of routes quite literally from the doorstep of Hathersage B&B.

For a rural Peak District village, Hathersage really does have something to offer for everyone. As well as numerous outdoor shops and gift shops, it boasts four fabulous pubs (all within a short walk of the B&B) offering different dining options.  There are also several cafes and tearooms, an award-winning deli, two Indian restaurants, a fish & chip shop, a bakery, a butcher, a pharmacy and a number of general stores.

Hathersage also has a wonderful outdoor swimming pool – voted the best lido in Britain. It is open and heated all year round and surely offers the best views from a swimming pool in the whole of Britain?!

A few minutes’ drive from Hathersage B&B brings you to the stunning Upper Derwent Valley and the famous reservoirs of Ladybower, Derwent and Howden. As well as being surrounded by fabulous scenery, the reservoirs are renowned for being the site of the practice bombing missions for 617 Squadron, the ‘Dambusters’, in the Second World War.

And in between them all, any number of picturesque and historic villages, local landmarks and beauty spots to discover.
