Hulmes Vale Farm Cottages are two stunning self-catering holiday properties, providing perfect Peak District accommodation for groups. Set in beautiful countryside on the edge of Tideswell, these traditional Derbyshire stone longhouses each sleep up to 16 guests – ideal for family gatherings, parties, reunions, school trips or corporate days. You can even bring your dog along to join in the fun!


Hulmes Vale Farm Cottages :
Hulmes Vale House

This lovely spacious property has 4 large bedrooms, easily sleeping up to 16 people.  Two of the bedrooms have a set of bunk beds and a separate single bed.  The third has two single beds and one pull-out bed, and also has its own en-suite shower room.  In the final room, you’ll find a further two single beds and an additional bunk bed.  A travel cot is also available. 

All bedrooms are complete with wardrobes, chest of drawers and bedside cabinets. 

If you need more space, a number of additional pull-out beds are available on request, and can be moved from room to room to make up the bed numbers to your requirements. 

Downstairs you won’t be pushed for space either!  The large lounge has comfy sofas and a TV (a small DVD selection is provided), plus beautiful views of the grounds and fields beyond.  It’s a great space to relax in after a day exploring the Peak District countryside!

The well-equipped kitchen contains everything you might need for cooking up a feast for your group, including a four-oven cooker and a microwave oven, a dishwasher, and a large fridge/freezer with ice making facilities, as well as all the crockery, cutlery, pans and tins you could want.

There’s also a utility area with a washing machine, iron and highchair, as well as a downstairs cloakroom.

Dine together around the large farmhouse table, and if you need even more space the separate dining room can seat another 14 people.

There is free WiFi throughout Hulmes Vale House.  

Going large?!  Hulmes Vale House can be hired along with the Holmes Barn to provide accommodation for over 30 guests.  There’s even camping space available in the adjoining Paddock!

For the ultimate treat for your stay, why not hire a hot tub?  There’s nothing finer than sinking into the steam and relaxing under the stars!

This beautiful refurbished barn conversion has 4 large bedrooms and can easily accommodate up to 16 guests.  Two of the bedrooms contain an adult bunk bed and two single beds.  The third bedroom features a further bunk bed set and a separate single bed.  Finally, the fourth bedroom contains a further two single beds and a set of bunk beds. 

All bedrooms have wardrobes, chest of drawers and bedside cabinets. Cots and highchairs are available on request.

There are two ‘Jack and Jill’ style bathrooms which are each shared between two of the bedrooms.  Both bathrooms have a shower, toilet, wash basin and heated towel rail.

For ultimate flexibility, there are spare mattresses and pull-out beds in the cottage which can be moved from room to room to make up the bed numbers according to your requirements.

Downstairs there’s a large living area with comfy sofas, chairs and FreeView TV.  A separate snug area contains ground floor sleeping facilities if required, incorporating a private area with a futon bed.

The spacious kitchen is fully equipped with everything you might need for your self-catering stay, including a free-standing cooker, a fridge, a freezer, a microwave oven and a dishwasher.  There’s plenty of crockery and cutlery for all your requirements too.  To the side of Holmes Barn there’s also a separate drying room with extra fridge space if needed.

When you’ve cooked up a feast, the large dining area makes for a perfect place to enjoy meals together and plan the next day’s adventures.

Although you’re surrounded by peace and quiet, you’re only a stone’s throw away from the lovely, bustling village of Tideswell, with a great range of shops, including a butcher, a baker, greengrocers, a chemist, grocery stores and a Post Office.  The village also has two fish and chip shops, many cafes, pubs and restaurants.

A short drive in the opposite direction will take you to the lovely town of Bakewell, with its pretty stone cottages along the River Wye and independent shops in cobbled courtyards, not to mention its famous Bakewell puddings and tarts!

If you enjoy wandering around country houses and estates, you’re close to Chatsworth, the jewel in the Peak District’s crown.  Just as beautiful and even more romantic, you’ll find Haddon Hall, a fairytale castle unchanged since the days of Henry VIII, covered in climbing roses and overlooking the rolling hills.
