Laneside Caravan Park is set in the most perfect Peak District location, in the heart of the stunning Hope Valley, surrounded by the sweeping hills and open countryside for which the area is so well known. A family-run site, now in its third generation, Laneside Caravan Park has been helping visitors make happy holiday memories for over 60 years.

This beautifully landscaped site in the village of Hope is nestled peacefully alongside the River Noe. Laneside Caravan Park welcomes touring caravans, camper vans, motorhomes and tents, and has both grass and hard-standing pitches with and without electric hook-ups. There are also three rental caravans available to hire and a wonderful dog friendly shepherds hut, each sleeping two.

Laneside Caravan Park is ideal for families and quiet couples. To ensure your stay is as peaceful and relaxing as possible, young single-sex groups or unaccompanied teenagers are not permitted.

Pitches at Laneside Caravan Park

Electric Pitches

Laneside Caravan Park has 41 grass pitches with electric hook-ups. There are also 48 hard-standing, all-weather pitches, 20 of which are fully serviced pitches. All the electric pitches have a 12 amp or 16 amp power supply, but please only use camping appliances on site to avoid tripping out the electricity supply. All pitches are well spaced and clearly marked.

There is also have a separate Adult Only area with hard standing and grass electric pitches, for those who want to enjoy more peace and quiet. Please specify when booking if you would like to be pitched in this field.

Non-Electric Pitches

Laneside Caravan Park also offers 31 grass pitches without electric hook-ups, split into 6, 4, or 2 man tent plots. These are located in a particularly beautiful spot at the bottom of the site close to the river.

Please note that the largest pitch during the high summer season is suitable for a tent size of 6 x 4 metres. At quieter times they can occasionally fit tents larger than this, but only by special agreement. You will be asked for your tent dimensions when booking so please have them to hand.

Seasonal Pitches

For those who just can’t get enough of the Peak District in only a few visits, seasonal pitches are available. These are hugely popular and there’s a contact list for anyone who is interested in being sited on a seasonal basis.

The season runs from March to January, but winter storage is available for those with seasonal pitches during the 2 months when the site is closed.

Rental Caravans and Shepherds Hut

Laneside Caravan Park also has a three 2 berth Rental Caravans available in the adults only field for those of you who wish to try out a caravan holiday.

New for 2024 is a brand new Shepherd’s Hut, Jack’s Hut! This delightful little hut is pet friendly and sleeps two people with a cosy wood burner for the cooler months and a fantastic veranda with elevated views overlooking Mam Tour and the River Noe.

Facilities at Laneside Caravan Park

At Laneside Caravan Park they pride themselves on the facilities they offer, and guests often comment on the superb cleanliness and attention to detail on the site.

There are large, bright, centrally-heated shower blocks with free, hot power showers, plus huge family/disabled shower units. They also offer spacious changing areas and individual vanity units, with sinks and mirrors. There are hair dryers and plug points available in the ladies toilet block.

A disabled shower and loo washroom with RADAR key access is also available on site. There are lowered sinks in the main bathroom areas for wheelchair users.

The laundry room has washers and dryers. For washing and drying your pots, there is a sheltered sink area with eight sinks.

Laneside Caravan Park Location

Laneside Caravan Park is located within easy walking distance of the pretty village of Hope, in the heart of the Peak District National Park. Hope has three pubs, a Post Office, a general store, a farm shop, and a wonderful delicatessen, as well as a number of great cafés and gift shops.

Laneside Caravan Park is also within very easy driving distance of the well-known destination of Castleton, with its wide range of pubs, restaurants and shops, plus four stunning show caverns and the ancient ruins of Peveril Castle.

Slightly further afield but still within easy driving distance, you’ll find the elegant spa town of Buxton, with its acclaimed Opera House. In the other direction it’s only a short drive to the historic market town of Bakewell, famed for its puddings and tarts. And if historical country house estates are your thing, you’re within easy reach of Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall.

The Peak District is famed for its breath-taking countryside, and at Laneside Caravan Park you’ll find no shortage of walking and cycling trails right from your doorstep. The mighty slopes of Mam Tor watch over the area, yet this is a surprisingly easy hill to climb and the summit offers spectacular view. This is great climbing country too, and the famous gritstone edifice of Stanage Edge is close by.
