Open all year round, with heated facilities, Lickpenny Caravan Park is a touring site that can be enjoyed in all seasons, whatever the weather! Set in 16 acres close to Tansley Matlock in the Derbyshire Dales. You will find mature trees, stunning rhododendrons and established hedgerows with beautiful private pitches, lots of green space to enjoy and stunning countryside views!

Private & Spacious Pitches

Lickpenny Caravan Park welcomes Caravans, Motorhomes and Trailer Tents on spacious, private, hardstanding pitches making this site ideal whatever the weather. All of the pitches are generous in size and have 16amp electric hook up, or choose one of the deluxe pitches which also have water and grey waste facilities.

The majority of the pitches are separated by established hedgerows giving lots of privacy, creating a picturesque and tranquil place to stay. Select pitches have views of the nearby Derbyshire Dales and over towards Riber Castle, providing a peaceful place to relax in the morning or after a day exploring this fabulous area.

Entry to the Lickpenny Caravan Park is via large gates with keypad entry and CCTV, giving peace of mind. For the children there is a brand new play area with swings, slide and climbing frame, alongside lawned areas with football nets and plenty of space for other recreational activities. Just across the road there is a lovely woodland area to explore, as well as public footpaths leading directly to the village of Tansley and surrounding areas.

Excellent Accessible Facilities

Lickpenny Caravan Park has excellent heated facilities, including accessible facilities ideal for those with limited mobility. There are two blocks on site, one with a level access, the other with a ramped access. Each of the heated blocks include:

Heated food preparation room

Onsite, you will also find a small shop with all essentials, and a Calor Gas Exchange.

Catering & Eateries

During peak season there are regular visits from a range of fabulous outside caterers serving burgers, pizzas, fish and chips, and even Greek food.

Just a five-minute walk away is a great Garden Centre with a coffee shop, restaurant and indoor play area, so ideal for cooler days. The village of Tansley is just a mile away and can be reached via a public footpath, with two traditional village pubs serving food. The picturesque village of Ashover, just three miles, away has three more village pubs.

There are some excellent Farm Shops and Tea Rooms within a 10 minute drive from the site.

Excellent Location

Lickpenny Caravan Park is well situated within the beautiful surroundings of the Derbyshire Dales.

The nearby village of Tansley is 1 mile away, Ashover village is 3 miles in the other direction. The wonderful historic spa towns of Matlock and Matlock Bath are just 3-4 miles away.

There is a handy bus stop just a 10-minute walk from the site if you want to leave the car behind. Matlock has a great selection of bars, cafes, shops and a lovely park. Matlock Bath has a real seaside feel with fish and chip shops, arcades, and lots of fun attractions for the family to enjoy, such as The Heights of Abraham and Gulliver’s Kingdom. Or perhaps take a step back in time at nearby Crich Tramway Village or Cromford, home to Richard Arkwright’s famous mills. Cromford also has a village pond, independent shops and eateries as well as a beautiful canal path with an abundance of wildlife.

For those wishing to explore a little further afield, the stately homes of Haddon Hall and Chatsworth House are just a short drive away, as is the market town of Bakewell together with so many pretty Peak District Villages to explore such as Baslow, Youlgreave, and Ashford in the Water.
