Marina View is a stylish, pet-friendly cottage, sleeping up to five, with direct canal-side access in the peaceful village of Furness Vale. Imagine waking to the gentle lapping of water against the canal bank and enjoying a morning coffee on the raised seating area while watching the wildlife. Spending your day enjoying canal-side walks along the towpath from the door or exploring this stunning area of the High Peak. All before snuggling up in front of the crackling wood-burning stove in an evening!

Cosy Lounge with Wood-Burning Stove

As you enter Marina View you’ll find a charming lounge with a comfortable L-shaped sofa bed, which can also be used to accommodate a fifth guest. The natural light creates an inviting atmosphere, and the wood-burning stove provides a warm, cosy place to enjoy your evenings while watching the TV after a day out on the canal banks or visiting the many local beauty spots of the Peak District National Park.

Bright Airy, Well Equipped Kitchen

Leading from the lounge is a fully equipped kitchen, with direct access to the canal side. This lovely, bright, airy space has crisp, clean units and wood-effect worktops, with everything you could need for a home-from-home stay, including:

  • Tumble Dryer
  • Microwave
  • Kettle & Toaster
  • Plenty of crockery, pans and glassware

The dining table, comfortably seating four, provides the perfect place to enjoy breakfast or meals together as a family.

Two Stylish Bedrooms

Marina View has two beautifully appointed bedrooms – one double and one with bunk beds – making this ideal for families. Each room has been stylishly decorated to give a modern feel, while still retaining the cottage charm. There is plenty of storage space in both rooms, ideal for those wishing to stay a while longer.

A fifth guest can also be accommodated on the sofa bed in the lounge.

Also on the first floor is a family bathroom with a toilet, sink and bath with an overhead shower.


Two Wonderful Outside Spaces

Whilst the inside space is wonderful, the outside space is what makes Marina View so very special, with not one but two outdoor spaces, each designed to make the most of this fabulous canal-side location.

Leading from the kitchen is an elevated terrace, with patio furniture and BBQ, where you could easily spend the whole day relaxing, watching the world go by and the comings and goings of boats on the marina.

There is an additional patio to the rear of the property which again provides a delightful space to relax with a coffee, meal or evening drink.

There is also off-road parking for up to two cars.

Chances are you won’t want to leave Marina View, but there’s so much to enjoy from the door, and you don’t even need to use the car if you don’t wish to! For those who’d prefer to use public transport, the train station is just a 2-minute walk away!


Perfect Canal-Side Location

Marina View is located right on the Peak Forest Canal in Furness Vale.  This charming village located in the High Peak is a peaceful place to enjoy leisurely walks or cycles along the towpath and is conveniently positioned to enjoy the wider Peak District attractions.

Enjoy a hike along the Sett Valley Trail, or discover the historic charm of New Mills, with its fascinating industrial heritage and breathtaking views from the Torrs Riverside Park and the Millennium Walkway.

Explore the Goyt Valley, a haven for wildlife and a paradise for hikers. From scenic walks and challenging climbs to picturesque villages and historic landmarks, this stunning area of the Peak District offers something for everyone.

For those who wish to eat out, just a five-minute stroll is the quirky Bohemian Bus Café, serving breakfast, lunch and evening meals at the weekends, with both indoor and outdoor seating. In addition, there’s a fabulous chippy just a 10-minute walk away too!

Less than two miles away are the delightful villages of New Mills and Whaley Bridge, both of which have a selection of bars, cafes and restaurants to enjoy, as well as places of interest such as The Sett Valley Trail and The Toddbrook Reservoir. Both are a short drive or a 30-40 minute walk along the towpath from the door of Marina View!

The village of Hayfield is just four miles away, with more delightful eateries and the perfect place to start your hike up the fabulous Kinder Scout!
