Middle Farm Holiday Cottages make the perfect venue for a relaxing stay in the beautiful Peak District countryside.

Located in the rural hamlet of Brushfield, on the edge of Monsal Dale, these two former barns have been lovingly converted to provide everything you could need for a peaceful break away from the hustle and bustle of daily life.

Our Location

The area around Brushfield has been farmed since Neolithic times and Middle Farm was originally a tenanted holding on the Duke of Devonshire’s Chatsworth Estate.  Our pretty cottages, Albertine (sleeps 8) and Maigold (sleeps 4), are tucked away on a quiet country lane, set on a sunny, south-facing hillside with outstanding views across beautiful landscapes.

This is an idyllic, tranquil setting, surrounded by rolling fields and ancient woodland, yet still centrally located in the heart of the Peak District National Park. The traffic-free Monsal Trail is very close, and is a great walking, cycling and riding route through the stunning Wye Valley.  The ancient market town of Bakewell is within easy driving distance, as is the elegant spa town of Buxton, renowned for its acclaimed Opera House and natural spring water.

Our Accommodation

The two cottages can be booked individually or together, sleeping up to 12 people in total.  Both have been restored and renovated to an exceptionally high standard and offer spacious, comfortable accommodation.  During the sympathetic restoration we made sure that many of the original features were kept, and the characterful cottages still retain their exposed beams and roof trusses, as well as their natural stone and wood interiors.

Both cottages have gardens and courtyard areas with outdoor furniture and barbecues – perfect for al fresco dining and for soaking up that fresh country air. They also have ample car parking and bike storage, as well as shared laundry facilities.

When you’ve prepared the meal, Albertine’s dining room is rustic and cosy, with wide-ranging views that look down across the farmyard and along the valley. It’s the perfect space to relax with your family or friends.
