Fabulous Bunk Room Offering One Night Stays

Miller’s Dale Bunk Room is a brilliant place to stay for those looking for budget accommodation with private toilet and shower facilities in a fabulous location! Having a similar feel to a youth hostel, Miller’s Dale Bunk Room is within an 18th Century cottage, sleeping up to 4 people, in two adult-sized bunk beds.

Guests can either choose to book a single bed or the whole space, both of which are available to book for one night only if required, so this is a handy place to keep a note of if you’re suddenly looking for a warm, dry place to stay when camping and get caught in bad weather! It’s also a great base if you’re looking for comfortable accommodation from which to explore Miller’s Dale, a beautiful conservation area and site of specific interest along the banks of the Derbyshire River Wye. Good news – dogs are welcome too, if booking the whole space.

Facilities

There are two adult-sized bunk beds at Miller’s Dale Bunk Room, which can be separated by a privacy curtain if required. The beds have comfortable mattresses with warm duvets and pillows, with brushed cotton bedding, together with faux fur blankets for the cooler nights.

One of the huge benefits of Miller’s Dale Bunk Room is the private toilet and shower facilities, with underfloor heating and a handy drying rack – perfect if you suddenly find yourself caught in the Great British weather! A hand towel and bathmat are provided, but you will need to bring towels for showering.

There are no cooking facilities at Miller’s Dale Bunk Room but there’s a wonderful pub serving food and real ales just a 2 minute walk away. There is however, a kettle, with tea, coffee and sugar, and a handy fridge. Remember, you can soon rustle up a camper’s cup-a-soup, pot noodle or some warm porridge with just boiling water from the kettle!

Miller’s Dale Bunk Room also includes individual lockers, a table and chairs, board games and books. Each of the beds has a handy reading lamp. Whilst there is free Wi-Fi, due to the age of the building and thickness of the walls, this can be a little temperamental at times.

Remember to Bring:

  • Towel for showering
  • Milk
  • Walking boots
  • Your Pot Noodle!

Wonderful Location

As the name suggests, Miller’s Dale Bunk Room is located in the heart of Miller’s Dale, a pretty little village right on the River Wye, with a Real Ale Pub serving home-cooked meals just two minutes from the door.

Opposite Millers Dale Bunk Room you can relax in the cottage’s river garden with patio furniture, watching the sun set at the end of a day exploring this beautiful area. There are miles of stunning walks right from the door including a six mile walk to nearby Tideswell. Tideswell is a delightful Peak District village with tea rooms, two restaurants and a couple more lovely village pubs. You can also enjoy a circular walk taking in the picturesque village of Litton, which is just two miles away, with tea rooms and – guess what?! – another village pub, before heading back via the stunning Cressbrook Dale.

For those wishing to cycle, The Monsal Trail is just 200 yards from the door! Here you can enjoy an 8.5-mile traffic-free route running from nearby Chee Dale to the fabulous market town of Bakewell.

If you wish to head out a little further, there are so many lovely villages, stately homes and other fabulous walking routes just a short drive away, such as Foolow, Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall and Ashford in the Water, via Monsal Dale.

At Miller’s Dale Bunk Room you can either explore this wonderful area of the Peak District by car, or park up and head out on foot or bike, discovering the many local villages and of course sampling the many village pubs en route! Would be rude not to, wouldn’t it!?
