Oakhill, a Georgian-style house, is a beautiful Grade II Listed building built by the Arkwright family in the mid-19^th Century with many original features remaining. It is now a family-owned boutique hotel, in Cromford, in the heart of the Derwent Valley UNESCO World Heritage Site. Oakhill offers visitors and guests a luxurious, yet relaxed, place to dine, drink and stay whilst exploring the beautiful Peak District, and has the most stunning grounds, which make for the most idyllic party and wedding venue.

Elegant Suites and Bedrooms

Oakhill has a total of fifteen rooms, including four charming suites, for those who prefer a little more space, all with the most wonderful open views. Each room has been individually designed with uncluttered elegance and finished to an impeccable standard with original and thoughtful heritage features. There are eleven further elegantly designed bedrooms, which include two family suites, offering peaceful and relaxing accommodation. All of the bedrooms at Oakhill include ‘Miniml’ toiletries which are zero-waste, natural British-made products, 100% Vegan, cruelty-free and plant-based.

Oakhill serves breakfast, lunch, dinner and afternoon tea in their elegant dining room, overlooking the beautiful garden. The bar at Oakhill is open from 8am daily. Call for coffee, and homemade cake. Enjoy a drink in the bar, lounge, or beautiful garden. All of Oakhill’s premium drinks have been selected with care and include gins and whisky from the local award-winning White Peak Distillery. Their wines are specially selected from John Hattersley and their bottled ales (Chatsworth Gold & Bakewell Best) are supplied by Peak Ales.

Celebrations and Weddings

Oakhill can cater for any family celebration or any other event which deserves a party! They also offer an exclusive-use wedding venue, allowing for flawless photo opportunities in their beautiful English garden. Oakhill’s garden could easily take a lead role in a Regency drama! Larger weddings are held in their picturesque grounds with smaller intimate weddings in their elegant dining room.

Grounds and Location

The outdoor space at Oakhill is divine! The beautiful gardens, with well stocked borders full of pretty shrubs and flowers, are the perfect place to relax and enjoy a tasty bite to eat or a refreshing drink, and of course make the ideal backdrop for celebrations and weddings.

The local area is equally as special! Situated in Cromford, on the edge of the Peak District National Park, Oakhill is surrounded by beautiful rolling countryside, and so many fabulous places to enjoy during your stay, including the delightful town of Matlock which is just a 10 minute drive.

Based in the heart of the Derwent Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, between Matlock and Wirksworth, here you can enjoy many walks from the door, including the relaxing towpath along the Cromford Canal, or have a leisurely bike ride or stroll on the nearby High Peak Trail, a seventeen mile traffic free route, which also links up to the Tissington Trail, leading you to many lovely Peak District villages such as Tissington and Hartington.
