Pomeroy Farm is a family-run dairy farm with a caravan and campsite, complete with an artisan ice cream shop on site! This popular gem in the Peak District National Park is located between Buxton and Bakewell, with direct access to the High Peak Trail.

Run by a small, dedicated team, Pomeroy Farm offers both grass and hardstanding pitches, some equipped with electric hook-ups, popular with both couples and families who return year after year to enjoy this peaceful location. With immaculate facilities, plenty of space for the whole family to enjoy, and unrivalled views of the Peak District countryside, Pomeroy Farm ensures a friendly, unforgettable camping experience.

Whether you’re camping or just passing by, you can indulge your sweet tooth in Pomeroy Farm’s artisan ice-cream shop, where you can call in for a cone or a family tub to take away! Children and adults alike will love Pomeroy Farm’s picnic and petting area, where you can interact with friendly farm animals and spot the dairy cows in the surrounding fields, before or after heading out to explore this wonderful area!

Beautiful Campsite with Excellent Facilities

Pomeroy Farm offers a diverse range of camping options to suit every preference, ensuring a memorable stay. Whether you’re arriving in a motorhome or campervan, with a caravan, trailer tent or traditional tent, you’ll be greeted with a warm welcome.

There are fully serviced pitches, complete with 16amp electric hook-up, water tap and grey waste disposal, electric grass pitches for tents with 16amp hook up and water tap, or for those seeking a more rustic experience, their open field offers spacious spots for tents to pitch up and relax. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the site.

Their hot, powerful showers, coupled with spacious cubicles and underfloor heating, ensure a refreshing start to your day. After a day exploring all that this wonderful area has to offer, families will welcome the family bathroom with an impeccably clean bath, perfect for giving the little ones a dip before bedtime. As you would imagine, the toilets are immaculate, and there are plenty of sinks with mirrors and automatic lighting. There are also facilities for disabled people. Pomeroy Farm’s campsite offers exceptional comfort and convenience!

The pot washing area is spotless and boasts five sinks, so there is plenty of room for everyone. There is also a communal freezer for refreezing your ice blocks to keep your food fresh.

For those looking to dine out, there are three pubs just a 10 or 25 minute stroll away, down the traffic-free route of the accessible High Peak Trail, all serving fabulous home cooked meals.

Children and adults alike will enjoy the ball games field, perfect for a football kickabout or a family game of rounders. Your furry friends are more than welcome at Pomeroy Farm, and although they are requested to be on leads around the site, they can enjoy a good run in Pomeroy Farm’s enclosed dog exercise area.

Everyone will love the petting area! You can spend time with the cute and friendly goats, the adorable pigs, the calm rabbits and of course the stars of the show – the dairy cows, which will also be seen pottering around in the neighbouring fields!

Last but by no means least, Pomeroy Farm has a fabulous onsite shop, supplying groceries, camping essentials, local produce and baked goods, together with fresh milk from the vending machine, make your own milkshakes, and delicious ice-cream produced on the farm.

Artisan Ice Cream Shop

Whether you are camping or just passing by, treat yourself to a taste of heaven at Pomeroy Farm’s onsite artisan ice-cream shop – it’s an experience you won’t want to miss! Open from 9.00am to 6.30pm daily from April through to October.

Pomeroy Farm proudly serve their own homemade artisan ice cream in a delicious selection of flavours, from classic favourites like strawberry and clotted cream to adventurous creations like rocky road and lime cheesecake. There’s something for everyone and their selection of ice cream flavours is constantly changing, so there’s always something new to discover with each visit too. You are sure to want to pop back!

The ice creams can be enjoyed in individual cones or tubs, or to take away in larger tubs to share as family at your leisure, or as a memento to take home! For a real treat, pair your ice cream with regular specials such as warm waffles or indulge in Pomeroy Farm’s irresistible sundaes.

The High Peak Trail is a traffic-free, 17 mile route, running through stunning limestone countryside between Dowlow near Buxton, and High Peak Junction near Cromford. The trail is flat and level making it ideal for those with pushchairs, bikes and wheelchair users. Likewise the Monsal Trail is within easy reach too, another picturesque traffic-free route running from Bakewell to Chee Dale.

Nearby, you’ll find a wealth of charming towns and villages waiting to be explored, each brimming with character and history, such as Chelmorton, Flagg, Hurdlow, Earl Sterndale, Monyash and Crowdecote, to name just a few!

In turn, each of these nearby villages bring with them countless walking routes. Earl Sterndale and Crowdecote are close to the popular routes around Chrome Hill and Parkhouse Hill (aka The Dragon’s Back), and Dovedale with its famous stepping stones. Nearby Monyash is a picturesque village with a duckpond, from where you can begin a scenic four-mile riverside route through Lathkill Dale.
