On the first floor and second floor, you will find three inviting bedrooms at The Cottage, Eyam each thoughtfully designed to provide comfort and style. There’s an elegant double room and a cosy single room on the first floor, with another beautiful double room on the second floor, accommodating up to five guests, ideal for both families and couples wishing to travel together. More exposed timber beams and window lintels add to the rustic charm of the rooms, along with tasteful décor, thoughtful finishing touches and luxury linens.

The Cottage, Eyam is situated next door to a very popular, yet quiet, dog-friendly village pub, The Miners Arms, serving high quality pub food, ranging from quick bar snacks to full restaurant meals, including that all important Sunday Roast. All food is freshly cooked to order using the finest ingredients, locally sourced wherever possible, so for those who don’t want to cook, you won’t have far to go to eat, and certainly won’t have far to stagger home!

Just down the lane are two delightful dog-friendly tearooms, with wonderful breakfast, brunch and lunchtime menus, catering for a variety of diets.

Just a little further through the village you will find Eyam Hall and its pretty courtyard with a fabulous bar and grill serving everything from coffee and cake, to sandwiches and breakfasts, right through to delicious modern meals and tempting cocktails! Also in the courtyard, you’ll find a wonderful homewares and unique gift shop, so you can treat yourself to a little something to take home!


Fabulous Historic Location

The Cottage, Eyam is perfectly situated in a quiet part of this intriguing little village, surrounded by stunning countryside. Steeped in history, and renowned for being a 17th Century ‘plague village’, Eyam is just fascinating, making it very popular with visitors to the Peak District. There are narrow village lanes to explore, lined with pretty stone cottages, and lots of historic reminders of the tragic but inspiring tale of the plague village.

A fifteen-minute drive takes you to Chatsworth House, ‘’The Jewel in the Crown of The Peak District’’, and just slightly further afield is Haddon Hall, described as one of the most beautiful medieval homes in England! Each has impressive architecture, beautiful grounds and landscaped gardens to meander.

Eyam is also close to many other delightful villages and towns such as Foolow, Bretton, Hathersage and Bakewell, to name just a few. Foolow is just two miles away, with a picture-perfect village pond and another great village pub serving food. Just three miles away is Bretton with yet another village pub, offering the most magnificent, elevated views over the surrounding Peak District countryside, the perfect spot to watch the sunset with a glass of wine. Around five miles from The Cottage, Eyam, is the delightful village of Hathersage with a wonderful selection of shops and eateries. Or why not visit the wonderful market town of Bakewell, again with independent shops, bars and restaurants, and a very poplar market on Mondays.

For those wanting to venture out into the countryside, you’ll be spoilt for choice, with so many walks to choose from in this beautiful part of the White Peak, such as the Figure of 8 Walk, via Stoney Middleton, or the enchanting Padley Gorge. Just a short distance away you can take in the breathtaking edges of Froggatt, Curbar and Baslow with stunning views, or cycle on the nearby Monsal Trail.
