Twitchill Farm Holiday Cottages are two beautiful self-catering cottages, each sleeping up to 8 people, situated in the heart of the Peak District National Park.

The cottages are surrounded on all sides by towering hills, heather-clad moorland and gently rolling fields, and both have panoramic views of this stunning area.

We are a family-run business with over 25 years’ experience of providing perfect family holidays in this breathtaking part of England.  We love where we live – and we love sharing it with others too!

The Accommodation

Twitchill Farm Holiday Cottages

Both cottages sleep up to 8 people individually and they can be booked separately or together.  The cottages have a lockable interlinking door on the first floor, meaning that larger groups of up to 16 people can be accommodated together.

Birch Cottage

Birch Cottage sleeps up to 8 people in four beautifully-furnished, comfortable bedrooms – two double rooms (one on the ground floor) and two twin rooms (again, one on the ground floor).

The spacious open plan kitchen/lounge area makes preparing family meals a sociable affair, and you’ll find everything you need in the fully-equipped kitchen.  Once you’ve cooked up a feast there’s a large dining room with a table that will seat up to 8 people.

Or you can head outside to cook on the barbecue and dine al fresco in our large garden with gazebo and outdoor seating.

The stunning views from Birch Cottage may well be entertainment enough for you – it’s the perfect place to watch the world go by.  But once evening falls you can relax together on cosy sofas in front of the HD Freesat TV, resting after a busy day of adventures in the countryside.

Birch Cottage and Ash Cottage share a utility room with a washing machine, tumble dryer and freezer.  There’s also secure bike storage here, and an area for washing and drying muddy gear.

Ash Cottage

Very similar in layout and design to Birch Cottage, Ash Cottage also sleeps up to 8 people in four lovely bedrooms – two double rooms (one on the ground floor) and two twin rooms (again, one on the ground floor).

The beautiful slopes of Lose Hill overlook the village of Hope, and lead on to the Great Ridge of Mam Tor.  At 517m high, Mam Tor is a great place to see unparalleled views of both the Hope Valley and the Edale Valley – the landscape has to be seen to be believed!

Twitchill Farm Holiday Cottages are located on the outskirts of the pretty village of Hope, which is within easy walking distance. Hope has a wide range of shops, cafés and pubs, including a farm shop and a lovely delicatessen.

Hope Church

Its near neighbour, Castleton, is within easy driving distance.  It is a wonderful place to visit for a day out, with a wealth of shops, cafés and pubs, as well as a ruined castle (Peveril Castle, managed by English Heritage) and no less than four show caverns to explore.

Slightly further afield, but within easy driving distance, is the lovely ancient market town of Bakewell, renowned for its wonderful tarts and puddings!  And in the opposite direction but still within easy reach is the elegant spa town of Buxton, famous for its stunning Opera House and classical Georgian architecture.
