Vallon Cottage and Bramwell Cottage are two lovely old Derbyshire cottages located in the pretty village of Youlgreave. Situated in the heart of the White Peak of the Peak District National Park, both cottages offer a wonderful space to unwind and relax and to explore the local area.
Both Vallon Cottage and Bramwell Cottage have enormous character and exude charm with thick stone walls, stunning views and eclectic decor; with rugs, mats, cushions and bedding from India, pottery from France and carvings from Africa. The warm and calming atmosphere means you may never want to leave, but if you do there are numerous walks from the front door or travel a little further and see what the locality has to offer.
Vallon Cottage sleeps up to 4 people in two beautiful bedrooms.
Bedroom One has a King Size bed with a memory foam mattress, hand-made bedding from India, a Bose radio/CD player and wonderful views of the hillside. The ensuite bathroom has a two-person bath, two basins and a good shower.

Also on the first floor is a large sitting room that is a relaxing space perfect for reading.
Downstairs on the ground floor is the colourful and cosy sitting room with Sony flatscreen TV, stereo system, plus lots of games, CDs and DVDs. There is also a log burner to ensure you are warm and cosy all year round (logs are included for your stay).
The kitchen is well equipped with a microwave/combi oven, Smeg oven, freezer, AEG fridge and Bosch dishwasher, plus a hand mixer, a toaster and all the utensils you might need.
The conservatory/dining room has fabulous views to the hillsides beyond. Inside there is a table and four chairs, a Bose iPod/phone docking station and many walking books and maps for your use.
The utility room has a washing machine and dryer plus hanging space for wet gear.

Vallon Cottage / Bramwell Cottage Location
Youlgreave is one of the prettiest villages in Derbyshire and its location makes it very popular with visitors. It’s the perfect base to explore the Peak District, with great walks and cycle routes from the door – you’ll find a local walking guide written by a village resident in both cottages.
The village has three pubs within a 5 minute stroll of Vallon Cottage, an excellent butcher/deli and a Post Office/general store, plus several cafes serving tea and coffee.
Further afield the famous Chatsworth House is just 15 mins drive away – explore the house and gardens, visit the farm shop and garden centre or just take a walk along the River Derwent within the wider estate parkland. Haddon Hall is even closer – just 5 minutes by car – or you can walk across the fields from Vallon Cottage to get there and then carry on to the town of Bakewell and catch a bus back to Youlgreave. In June the rose garden at Haddon Hall is beautiful and there is a market in Bakewell every Monday until 4pm.
If cycling is your thing then the nearby High Peak Trail, Monsal Trail and Tissington Trail are all traffic-free former railway lines, perfect for riders of all ages. You can bring your own bikes or hire them at locations along all the trails.
