Iconic Location

The building is iconic, the food is incredible, the facilities indulgent, and the location is irresistibly inviting! Whether you want to explore the architecture and landscaped parks that this impressive town has to offer, browse the numerous boutique shops, embrace the cultural activity taking in a show, play golf, or of course relax in the spa, Buxton has something for everyone! Not only that, but being surrounded by the Peak District National Park means that there are numerous pretty villages, market towns, stately homes, and miles of breath-taking countryside walks and cycle routes for you to enjoy.

Buxton Opera House is a beautiful Edwardian theatre which presents around 450 shows per year including comedy, children’s shows, concerts, pantomime and opera, as well as hosting the Buxton International Festival each year. A visit to Buxton Museum and Art Gallery is also well worth a visit, where you can view core collections of Peak District archaeology, geology, art and local history. Enjoy the many ornamental parks such as the Pavilion Gardens with landscaped borders, lawns for picnicking and a boating lake. The children will love Pooles Cavern too, where you can explore the underworld venturing through illuminated limestone chambers. There really are just so many amazing places to enjoy in this fabulous town!

Travelling slightly out of town, in just half an hour you can be exploring the beautiful stately homes of Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall, both of which have impressive grounds and gardens to meander. In just 15-30 minutes you could be walking in some of the most picturesque areas of the Peak District, such as Tideswell and Tideswell Dale with an abundance of wildlife, Monyash with its village pond, or Edale where you could start your hike up Kinder Scout.

Whatever you decide to do during your stay, you’re sure to finding it relaxing and restoring, just like the incredible restoration of Buxton Crescent itself!
