Competition / Giveaway Terms – Let’s Go Peak District

1. Definitions
In these terms, “competition” and “giveaway” mean exactly the same thing: any prize draw, contest, or similar promotion run by us. We use both words interchangeably to match the language our audience sees.
2. Promoter and prize provider
The promoter is Let’s Go Peak District (“Promoter”, “we”, “us”).
The prize is provided by a third-party advertiser (“Prize Provider”), who will be named in the specific competition / giveaway announcement. We act as the vehicle for the promotion; we are not the provider of the experience, gift, voucher, or service offered as the prize.
3. Scope
These terms cover every competition / giveaway we run through:

- > and any promotion we may publicise through our email newsletter
The newsletter is purely a communication tool – it cannot be used to enter a competition. It directs you to one of the entry methods described below.
4. Eligibility
Open to UK residents aged 18 or over.
Excludes employees of the Promoter, the Prize Provider, their immediate families, agents, or anyone else professionally connected with the competition / giveaway.
Social media entries must come from a genuine personal Facebook or Instagram account. Entries from fake, shared, or competition-only accounts will be void.
We reserve the right to verify eligibility and ask for proof of age and identity.
5. How to enter
The specific entry instructions and entry period will be given in the relevant post, webpage, or newsletter. The available entry methods are:
Facebook / Instagram: Follow the instructions in the competition post (e.g. like, comment, tag friends). No purchase or payment is required.
Website contact form: Complete the dedicated competition form at https://letsgopeakdistrict.co.uk/giveaway-terms-and-conditions/ during the entry period.
Mailing list notice – website entries only
The website page featuring the contact form will:
Clearly warn you that by submitting the form, you agree to be added to the Let’s Go Peak District mailing list.
Display the alternative social media entry methods, so you can choose to enter without joining the mailing list if you prefer.
By submitting the website contact form, you give your consent to receive our newsletter. You may unsubscribe at any time via the link in our emails. Unsubscribing does not affect a valid competition entry already submitted.
General entry rules
One entry per person unless the specific competition / giveaway clearly states otherwise.
Automated, bulk, or third-party entries are prohibited and will be disqualified.
Incomplete entries, or entries that breach the rules of the platform used, are void.
6. The prize
The prize is as described in the competition / giveaway announcement, supplied by the named Prize Provider.
It is non-transferable and non-refundable, and no cash alternative is offered unless we and the Prize Provider agree otherwise.
We may substitute a prize of equal or greater value if circumstances beyond our control make this necessary.
Any additional costs (e.g. travel, accommodation, spending money) are the winner’s responsibility unless explicitly stated in the announcement.
Any queries, complaints, or issues regarding the prize itself (including its quality, delivery, or availability) should be directed to the Prize Provider. We will, however, provide reasonable assistance in connecting you with the Prize Provider.
7. Choosing a winner
The winner will be chosen at random within 5 working days of the closing date.
Our decision is final; no correspondence will be entered into.
8. Winner announcement and claiming the prize
The winner will be notified by one or more of: tagged in a post on our Facebook/Instagram page, direct message on social media, or email (if they entered via the website).
The winner must respond within [7] days and supply any information we reasonably need (e.g. delivery address, contact details for the Prize Provider). If they fail to do so, we may select an alternative winner.
The winner’s name and/or social media username may be published for promotional purposes, unless they object at the time of notification.
Once we have passed the winner’s details to the Prize Provider, the prize becomes the responsibility of the Prize Provider.
9. Data protection and mailing list
All personal data is processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy and UK data protection law.
We use your data only to:
- > administer the competition / giveaway
- > deliver the prize (which may include sharing necessary details with the Prize Provider)
- > and only if you entered via the website contact form, this constitutes automatic enrollment in our email newsletter, which you may opt out of at any time
We will never sell your data or share it with third parties for their own marketing without your permission.
If you unsubscribe from the newsletter, your competition entry remains valid provided it was submitted before the closing date.
10. Limitation of liability
We are not liable for any loss, damage, or disappointment arising from entry into the competition / giveaway, or from acceptance of the prize.
We are not responsible for the acts or omissions of the Prize Provider, or for any aspect of the prize once we have handed the winner’s details to the Prize Provider.
We are not responsible for entries not received due to technical faults or for problems with the prize after it has been provided.
Your statutory rights are not affected.
11. Facebook and Instagram release
Any promotion run on Facebook or Instagram is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Facebook or Instagram.
By entering via Facebook or Instagram, you completely release Facebook and Instagram from any liability arising from or in connection with the promotion.
12. General
We may amend these terms or cancel a competition / giveaway in exceptional circumstances without prior notice.
These terms are governed by English law, and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
