Family-friendly Farm Park in the beautiful Derbyshire countryside
Matlock Farm Park provides a great day out for the whole family, set in beautiful countryside on the outskirts of Matlock on the edge of the Peak District National Park.
There are loads of animals to see and feed, including meerkats, llamas, wallabies, deer and peacocks, as well as plenty of familiar farmyard favourites.
Children can get up close and personal with some furry friends, and cuddle guinea pigs, rabbits and chicks in the petting barn.
Why not buy a bag of feed and have the sheep eating out of your hand?
Pick up a bag of animal feed on entry to Matlock Farm Park and enjoy hand feeding the animals as you wander around. When you are feeding the four legged, grass-eating animals please remember to keep hands nice and flat. When you are feeding pigs or donkeys, throw the feed on the ground and do not put your hands in, as pigs and donkeys have terrible table manners and aren’t very good at sharing!
If the animals aren’t enough, there’s also a great adventure playground, an indoor play barn, even a Go-Karting track, as well as a licensed café serving hot food and a gift shop.
The Farm Park hosts educational visits from schools, pre-schools, scouting groups, SEN groups and holiday clubs. They also have a dedicated classroom facility to allow children to learn about animals, and offer Woodland Adventure packages to learn about nature and animal habitats in the countryside.
Pony trekking in the beautiful Derbyshire countryside and horse riding lessons in the purpose-built arena are also available via Matlock Farm Park, booking essential.
Farm Tours, Special Events and Birthday Party Packages are also available. Contact the Farm directly for further information.
Matlock Farm Park is usually open all year round, except Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day, from 10.00am to 4.30pm. However, please check with the Farm Park before visiting.
