The perfect little village of Tissington, on the southern edge of the Peak District National Park, is a must-see for any visitor to the area. A pretty collection of stone cottages lie clustered around a gracious stately home, in a village complete with a duck pond, six ancient wells, a church, a fabulous tea room and some wonderful independent shops. Our easy 4 mile circular walk from the village takes you along country lanes and over field paths offering fabulous views, all the way to the equally charming village of Parwich. From there the route heads back over field paths and along the peaceful Tissington Trail all the way back to the start point.

It's regarded as being one of the most important Neolithic sites in the UK, and very few henge monuments are as well-preserved. Thought to have been established in around 2500 BC and in use until the Bronze Age, Arbor Low was one of the first ancient monuments in the UK to be given statutory protection in the late 19th Century.
