Peak District...
Ashover is a delightful village on the edge of Peak District, which oozes traditional village charm. At the heart of Ashover you will find Fairfield Loft, a stylish studio sleeping two people, and Fairfield Snug, a brand new ensuite room for two with private access. Here you’ll also find a wonderful coffee shop, perfectly named ‘’Stamp Coffee Shop’’ and here’s why……….!
With the owners wanting to secure the future of the village Post Office, the family decided to create this fabulous coffee shop within the Post Office as a way serving the locals, enticing the visitors and saving another part of their wonderful village. So, to keep the village spirit alive, you can either pop in to post a letter, pick up a newspaper, enjoy a delicious breakfast, or take away a scrumptious cake to enjoy on one of the many walks in the area. You can even stay over in the studio and enjoy all that this fabulous village has to offer!
Fairfield Loft is decorated and furnished to a high standard. With space for two people, it’s the perfect place for a cosy getaway for couples, or for those travelling solo.
Access to Fairfield Loft is via a quirky spiral staircase which leads from the small courtyard with outdoor seating – the perfect place to relax after exploring some of the beautiful walks that are just a stone’s throw away.
With exposed timber beams and a brightly coloured interior, the accommodation itself is gorgeously stylish, made all the better with the fabulous sky lights that allow the light to flood in. The accommodation is an open plan studio so you can curl up on the sofa or snuggle up in the king-sized bed watching the Ultra HD 4K TV or the flickering of the modern fire, after a day out in the nearby Peak District National Park. You will find all you need in the neat kitchen area, with island/breakfast bar.
The sleeping area also has a fitted wardrobe and drawer space, so plenty of storage room for two, which then leads on to the crisp, clean shower room with sink and WC.
Fairfield Snug is adjacent to Stamp Coffee Shop with private access with a smart lock for independent check in, ideal for singles or couples looking for a one night stay, or for a two night weekend break in the lovely village of Ashover. The Snug is a generous en-suite room which can be set up as either a super king bed or two full size single beds, with separate shower room with toilet.
Tea and coffee making facilities are provided and of course Stamp Coffee Shop is open Monday – Saturday, at a discounted rates for staying guests. The room also has a Smart TV and complementary Wi-Fi.
The room is on the ground floor with one step outside the entrance door and guests have use of the outdoor seating in the courtyards directly in front of and behind Fairfield Snug.
Secure storage is available for bicycles on request.
Fairfield Loft, Fairfield Snug and Stamp Coffee Shop are both located in the centre of Ashover, which really is the most wonderful traditional village with regular events throughout the year, there is always something to enjoy. From festivals to car hill climbs, to street theatres and fun runs, along with regular village shows and stalls. There’s even a farm for pumpkin picking in October, and a Christmas panto!
Of course, a village wouldn’t be a true village without a village pub – well, in Ashover you’ve got the choice of three, all within walking distance of Fairfield Loft. They all serve home-cooked food, so ideal for an evening meal if you prefer not to cook.
However, for those that wish to cook, there’s also a butcher with a selection of fresh produce, and a lovely tuck shop selling fabulous arts and crafts.
Should you wish to head out to the Peak District then you are just a 10-20 minute drive away from some fabulous walks, towns and places of interest such as Bakewell, Matlock or Chatsworth House. However, should you wish to head straight out on foot, then there are many wonderful walks right from the door such as Ashover Rock with fabulous far reaching views, or enjoy a relaxing stroll alongside the River Amber.
This really is a wonderful, quiet place to stay, away from the hustle and bustle of some of the usual Peak District favourites, but close enough to enjoy them if you wish!
