Courtyard Cottage sleeps two people in a king size bed. It offers luxurious open plan living accommodation all on one level with lots of original features and charm, including a wood burning stove, exposed timber beams and triple aspect windows, allowing light to flood in and providing views in every direction.

Outside, there’s a fabulous Japanese whirlpool bath, with hot water and massage jets which is the most idyllic way to relax and unwind in this peaceful setting. You can enjoy the stunning views in every direction and soak up the peace and quiet of the countryside.

This Derbyshire holiday cottage has been furnished to a very high standard and has lots of special finishing touches and attention to detail to ensure guests have a special stay.

The self-catering kitchen area is bright and modern with everything you could need during your stay, including a hob, oven, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, and washing machine. All kitchen utensils and crockery are provided, as well as handy store cupboard essentials. Guests are treated to a generous welcome pack too including locally sourced eggs, bacon, bread, and butter (stays of two nights or more).

The bedroom at Courtyard Cottage is bright and airy with its vaulted ceiling. It has a king size bed with luxurious bedding and stunning views of the garden, along with beautiful oak furniture, wooden floors and an en-suite bathroom. It has everything to make your stay the best it could be.

In the adjoining bathroom is a spectacular shower with room for two. There’s even a Bluetooth mirror so you can play your favourite music whilst enjoying a refreshing shower before or after a day exploring this wonderful area. Egyptian cotton towels and complimentary toiletries are also included.

Outside in the beautiful private garden you can enjoy a morning coffee or a glass of wine in the evenings with lawn area, patio set for two and a fire pit.

Courtyard Loft at Westhills is a gorgeous hideaway, perfect for couples, again with gorgeous open plan living accommodation on the first floor of a converted loft.

Great Location and Walks from the Door

Westhills Courtyard is in a fabulous location. It’s less than a mile away from the pretty village of Winster, which has an excellent well-stocked village shop that also houses the post office, and delightful village pubs serving home-cooked food and refreshing real ales. Winster also has numerous listed buildings and plenty of history, making this a picturesque village well worth a visit. A mile and half down the road in the other direction is the ancient village of Birchover on the edge of Stanton Moor. In Birchover you’ll find two lovely village pubs serving great food and beer.  

You can explore both of these villages with a Figure of 8 Walk written specifically for Westhills Courtyard that has full, easy-to-follow directions, and starts and ends right at the door.

Westhills Courtyard is situated very close to the Limestone Way, a long distance footpath that runs for 46 miles from Castleton in Derbyshire to Rocester in Staffordshire, passing through some spectacular countryside on the way.  

During your stay make sure you also explore the nearby outdoor attractions of Rowtor RocksStanton Moor and Nine Ladies Stone Circle, all of which are easily accessible by foot.

Nearby Places to Visit

For those wishing to explore a little further afield by car, just six miles away are the fabulous towns of Matlock and Matlock Bath, both of which are filled with great family attractions, including The Heights of Abraham and Gulliver’s Kingdom, as well as shops, arcades, crazy golf, a boating lake, cafés, pubs and much more.

Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall are just a 20-minute drive away. These country estates are fabulous to explore both inside and out, with so much history and stunning gardens and parkland to enjoy.

The nearby towns of AshbourneBakewell, Wirksworth, and Cromford are all great places to visit with shops, cafés, and restaurants. Or try out the delightful villages of HartingtonMonyash and Tissington. There really is so much to enjoy from this perfect hideaway location.
