Peak District...
At Yew Tree Farm you’ll find two beautiful holiday properties: Yew Tree Farmhouse, sleeping up to 8 people, and Fox Cottage, an adjoining annex perfect for 2 people. Located in Tansley on the outskirts of Matlock, Yew Tree Farm is set within 25 acres of grazing pasture, crop fields, woodland and wildlife areas on the edge of the Peak District National Park. There are beautiful, enclosed, landscaped cottage gardens, with a tranquil pond, making this a perfect place to relax and unwind. Dogs are welcome by prior arrangement and there are also excellent stables and grazing land, so you can even bring your horses too!Â
As you approach Yew Tree Farm via the sweeping driveway, you will be instantly wowed by the grandeur of the house and its stunning setting and facilities. Many of the classic Victorian elements have been retained, giving Yew Tree Farm an elegant country feel with a modern twist, where you’re sure to have a wonderful stay.
On the ground floor at Yew Tree Farmhouse you’ll find a spacious lounge with seating for up to 7 people. With dual aspect windows, the lounge is light and airy, yet the original, exposed brickwork and wood burning stove give the room a lovely, cosy feel too. There is also a smart Amazon TV, perfect for relaxing after a day out in this wonderful area.
There is plenty of space and storage in the kitchen area, with a sociable breakfast bar. Here you’ll find all the modern essentials such as microwave, dishwasher and electric oven and hob. Continuing with the country farmhouse feel, there is also a magnificent Aga range too which you are free to cook on if you wish, and will be sure to keep you warm and toasty in the cooler months, along with the gas central heating. There is also a handy shared utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer.
The large dining area is surrounded by windows and Velux roof lights, making this a wonderful place to relax with a coffee in the morning or to enjoy a meal with friends, admiring the glorious gardens that surround it.
There are four bedrooms at Yew Tree Farmhouse, sleeping up to 8 people. There are two king sized rooms, one of which is ensuite, a small double room on the ground floor, and an additional room with a 3/4 bed suitable for one or possibly two guests. Each bedroom has been refurbished to the same high standard as the rest of the house, with plenty of storage. The décor continues the country feel, with more modern twists, giving a lovely crisp, clean feel.
Also on the first floor is a modern family bathroom.
Fox Cottage at Yew Tree Farm is a delightful adjoining annex, sleeping 2 people, with a lockable interconnecting door to the main farmhouse. This makes it ideal for couples or as extra space for larger groups staying at the main farmhouse.
Fox Cottage provides open plan living with a cosy, characterful living space with kitchenette and dining area. There are comfortable sofas and a TV in the lounge area, and the kitchenette has an undercounter fridge/freezer and an electric oven & hob, together with a small dining table. There is also a handy shared utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer.
The open plan staircase leads to a beautiful bedroom with a picture window and Velux roof lights. The room has been stylishly decorated with the same country feel as the main farmhouse, with a comfortable king-sized bed and ensuite shower room.
You’ll be amazed by the garden and facilities at Yew Tree Farm. Like something out of a country magazine, the well-kept enclosed garden is full of cottage flowers, and a tranquil pond with a small bench, where you can sit and while away the day. Â
There is also garden furniture, a barbecue and pizza oven, making this an ideal place to enjoy time with family and friends in wonderful surroundings.
Not only that, right next to the farmhouse is horse stabling and grazing, making this perfect for those looking for an equine holiday. (Please contact the helpful owners at Yew Tree Farm if you require more information regarding this, and they will be happy to help.)
As you’d expect, there is ample parking for cars and horse trailers.
