The garden path lined with flowers leads you into this gorgeous Georgian Cottage, which has been recently renovated to the highest standard with lots of thoughtful finishing touches. Take a stroll through the pretty garden gate and you are right on the banks of the tranquil River Wye, and only a 5–10 minute walk into the delightful town of Bakewell itself.

Bright and Airy Living Accommodation

As you walk up the garden path of 2 Lumford House, the first thing that awaits you is a glazed entrance porch with two benches, ideal for storing those all-important walking boots, or opening the doors in the morning and sitting with a cup of coffee, listening to the sound of the river and all the birdsong that it attracts.

The lounge is stunningly bright, spacious, and airy, with two windows overlooking the garden. There are two large sofas, with beautiful soft furnishings in earthy tones, giving 2 Lumford House a lovely home-from-home feel. There is also a smart TV and a welcoming wood-burning stove, making this a wonderful place to relax on a rainy day, or after a day exploring everything that this fabulous area has to offer.

The kitchen/dining area at 2 Lumford House has been sympathetically decorated, keeping the original stone fireplace and other rustic features. The dining table, seating six, is situated next to the gorgeous, glazed porch – the light in here is just wonderful! The kitchen itself has a lovely country feel, with all necessary modern appliances including dishwasher, hob, oven, microwave, together with all other day to day essentials.

A washer/dryer can be found in the separate utility room with WC and hand basin.

Crisp and Clean Bedrooms

Upstairs along a bright landing there are three crisp, fresh, beautifully decorated bedrooms. The king-sized master room has its own ensuite shower room. There is also a double and a twin room, sharing a beautiful family bathroom, with overhead shower. Each of the rooms have again been elegantly decorated in calming tones and stylish soft furnishings, ensuring a relaxing, peaceful stay. From each of the windows you have more gorgeous views over the River Wye.

Tranquil Garden

To the front of 2 Lumford House you have a pretty, enclosed private garden with lawned area and beautiful flower beds. There is a wonderful terraced area with bench, patio set and BBQ. With the river just through the garden gate, this makes the most relaxing place to sit in a morning with a cup of coffee, or to enjoy a little al fresco dining in an evening, with a glass of wine or a chilled beer.

To the rear of the property is a shared courtyard, with garage, perfect for storing pushchairs and bikes. There is also parking for two cars, making this ideal for families and friends travelling together.

Even the fabulous stately homes of Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall can both be reached on foot.
