The only noises you’re likely to hear are from the local sheep or the small herd of traditional rare breed Hereford cattle, which you’ll find in the field next to the large garden. If you’re looking for relaxation and an escape from daily life, then Manor House Farm is just perfect for you.
There are four Bed & Breakfast rooms available at Manor House Farm. Each has been furnished to the very highest standard in its own individual style.
Three of the bedrooms have four-poster beds, for the ultimate in luxury. The fourth bedroom has a half-poster bed, with posts at the head. All have wonderful countryside views, either over the magnificent gardens or over the Weaver Hills. One room is perfect as a twin or family room, sleeping up to 4 people.
All rooms have an en-suite bathroom or shower room, a TV and
Wi-Fi access, as well as tea/coffee making facilities. Linen and towels are provided.
There is also a warm, comfortable lounge for guests to relax in, complete with a log fire, ideal for unwinding in front of after a day out exploring in the Peak District fresh air.
Hearty Breakfasts at Manor House Farm
After a great night’s sleep, start your day with a hearty breakfast in the oak-panelled dining room. Breakfasts are prepared freshly using local produce wherever possible, including home produced bacon, sausages and eggs. In season there are home-grown tomatoes too.
At Manor House Farm they pride themselves on offering a wide variety of breakfast choices, from a full English to vegetarian and vegan options. There is also a fish option. For lighter choices, or to supplement your meal, there’s always a wide selection of cereals, yogurts and fruits. If you have any other particular dietary needs please let the staff know when booking and they’ll be pleased to accommodate them.
Breakfast times are flexible – with early breakfasts no problem at all!
Keeper’s Cottage at Manor House Farm
This 18th Century property is full of rustic character and
charm, yet equipped with every luxury and modern convenience you’ll need for an
unforgettable break in the countryside.
Keeper’s Cottage sleeps 4 people in two wonderful
bedrooms. On the ground floor you’ll
find a luxurious double bedroom, with oak-panelled walls and a sumptuous
four-poster bed. Right next door is a
shower/WC. Head upstairs by way of the small, twisting, stone stairway and you’ll
find a further twin/double bedroom with an en-suite bathroom. All linen and towels are provided.
A comfortable lounge, complete with a log-burning stove, is just perfect for cosy nights in. There’s free Wi-Fi access too. A well-equipped kitchen contains everything you’ll need for cooking up a feast.
We should point out that Keeper’s Cottage is an old
building, full of character. As a
result, some of the doorways and ceilings are somewhat on the low side – do be
careful if you’re somewhat on the tall side!
Outside, the large garden has a woodland patio and plenty of
room for barbecues and al fresco dining.

Beautiful Gardens at Manor House Farm
The beautiful 3 acre garden is perfect for wandering in, or simply for relaxing in on long summer evenings.
Boasting arguably the largest stone table you’re ever
likely to see (once part of the floor of the Municipal Baths in Lancaster) and
a summer house that started life on top of a hospital in Sheffield, this is a
garden of great character! There is also
an old 1930s railway truck that has been transformed into a second summer house,
from which you get the best views towards the Weaver Hills.
Why not try a fun game of tennis on the grass tennis court or croquet on one of the terraced lawns? Enjoy a barbecue and al fresco dining, soaking up those magnificent views.

The tiny hamlet of Prestwood has a population of less than
30, and is reached via a single track road.
This ancient settlement has been in existence since the middle ages,
when it was originally called Priests Wood and belonged to the Abbey at
Calwich, 3 miles away.
Peaceful and idyllic, surrounded by wonderful countryside, it’s an ideal base for exploring both the Staffordshire Moorlands and the Peak District National Park. There are fabulous walks in every direction, literally from the doorstep. The nearest village, Ellastone, is a beautiful little place with a wonderful pub.
For fast-paced action, Alton Towers is less than 3 miles away. Or for more gentle thrills, the stunning valley of Dovedale is only 8 miles away.
Slightly further afield but still within easy driving distance, you’ll find the country estates of Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall or Sudbury Hall and the National Museum of Childhood. The Potteries, with all their industrial heritage and wonderful factory shops, are only 20 miles away.
