Beautiful Gardens at Manor House Farm

Our beautiful 3 acre garden is perfect for wandering in, or simply for relaxing in on long summer evenings.

Manor House Farm

Boasting arguably the largest stone table you’re ever likely to see (once part of the floor of the Municipal Baths in Lancaster) and a summer house that started life on top of a hospital in Sheffield, this is a garden of great character!  There is also an old 1930s railway truck that has been transformed into a second summer house, from which you get the best views towards the Weaver Hills.

Why not try a fun game of tennis on our grass tennis court or croquet on one of the terraced lawns?  Enjoy a barbecue and al fresco dining, soaking up those magnificent views.

Manor House Farm Location

The tiny hamlet of Prestwood has a population of less than 30, and is reached via a single track road.  This ancient settlement has been in existence since the middle ages, when it was originally called Priests Wood and belonged to the Abbey at Calwich, 3 miles away.

Peaceful and idyllic, surrounded by wonderful countryside, it’s an ideal base for exploring both the Staffordshire Moorlands and the Peak District National Park.  There are fabulous walks in every direction, literally from the doorstep.  The nearest village, Ellastone, is a beautiful little place with a wonderful pub.

For fast-paced action, Alton Towers is less than 3 miles away.  Or for more gentle thrills, the stunning valley of Dovedale is only 8 miles away.

Slightly further afield but still within easy driving distance, you’ll find the country estates of Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall or Sudbury Hall and the National Museum of Childhood.  The Potteries, with all their industrial heritage and wonderful factory shops, are only 20 miles away.
