Farbrook Farm is a beautiful 18th Century working farm in the south west corner of the Peak District National Park, on the edge of the village of Flash, the highest village in Britain.  We love where we live, so in 2009 we decided to convert our loveliest barns into self-catering holiday accommodation to share a little bit of the Peak District magic with others. Overbrook Barn and The Shearing Shed are the results!  Located within the grounds of our picturesque farm, in a quiet valley, they are the perfect venues for a relaxing rural break.

Overbrook Barn is a charming 19th Century converted barn, nestling in the stunning Staffordshire Peak District countryside.  Originally a livestock shippon with a hayloft, Overbrook Barn is a traditional pink gritstone building.  Its thick stone walls make it cool in the summer and cosy in the winter, and we’ve furnished it to be the most comfortable hideaway you can imagine.

The Shearing Shed is where we used to shear our alpacas.  We decided its position and view were too good not to share with others, however, so we converted it into the beautiful holiday accommodation you see today. It’s a cosy and stylish property, with the most amazing views over the surrounding countryside.

Overbrook Barn (Sleeps 8)

Overbrook Barn sleeps up to 8 people, in four double bedrooms.  The style is clean, modern and cosy, rather than rustic.  The living room, dining room, and kitchen are on the ground floor in a single, airy open-plan space, with three large picture windows offering spectacular views over the farm.

Overbrook Barn

In the lounge you’ll find a log-burning stove to relax with after a hard day out exploring.  And for cosy nights in, we’ve got Sky TV, a selection of BluRay DVDs and a music system.  Overbrook Barn has its own phone which you’re welcome to use, and there’s also free wireless broadband internet throughout.

The kitchen is fully equipped with all the essentials you’ll need to cook up a feast!  It includes a Neff oven, microwave and ceramic hob, a dishwasher, fridge/freezer and washer/dryer, along with the usual range of kitchen equipment, incl a food processor, toaster, kettle, etc.

The main bedroom is downstairs.  Beautifully furnished, it has a luxurious super-king double bed and an en-suite bathroom with a shower.

Upstairs are three further bedrooms and the main bathroom, which has a bath and a shower over. The upstairs bedrooms all have twin beds but these can be made into super-king doubles if you prefer.

Each bedroom has a TV/DVD, and the comfortable beds are made up with duvets with cotton sheets and covers.  All bed linen and towels are provided.

Outside, Overbrook Barn has a gated and lit garden, complete with a barbecue area with seating for eight people.  We can even arrange a hot-tub rental if you’d like us to!

Overbrook Barn has its own long driveway which ends with parking for at least four cars immediately outside your gate.

The Shearing Shed (Sleeps 6 + 2)

Like Overbrook Barn, the style of The Shearing Shed is clean, modern and cosy, rather than rustic. The living room, dining room, and kitchen are on the ground floor in a single open-plan space with full floor-to-ceiling views down the valley and over the alpaca feeding area. The glass-balustraded patio overlooks the brook.

In the spacious lounge you’ll find a log-burning stove to keep you cosy even on the coldest nights, as well as Sky TV, a selection of BluRay DVDs and a music system.  The Shearing Shed has its own phone which you’re welcome to use, and there’s also free wireless broadband internet throughout.

In the lounge you’ll also find a sofa bed which sleeps two comfortably on a large double mattress (180 x 150cm).

The kitchen is equipped with all the essentials you’ll need for adventurous cooking for a full house!  It includes a Neff oven, microwave and induction hob, a dishwasher, fridge/freezer and washer/dryer, along with the usual range of kitchen equipment, incl a food processor, toaster, kettle, etc.

The dining tables will seat up to 22 people should you find yourself organising a party!

Upstairs you’ll find three bedrooms, a shower room with lavatory, and a separate lavatory. The shower room has a walk-in shower, lavatory, basin, and towel radiator.

The bedrooms can be made into super-king doubles or twins as you prefer. All bedrooms have natural fibre duvets with cotton sheets and covers (bed linen and towels are provided, and we can provide hypoallergenic bedding if you need it).

Outside, The Shearing Shed has a secure garden with a barbecue area, and we can even arrange hot tub rental if you’d like.  Parking for at least four cars is available.

Our Location

This part of the Staffordshire Peak District is renowned for its stunning countryside, and we’re surrounding by the most beautiful views in every direction.  There are walks literally from the doorstep, through the rolling hills or along the country lanes, on a network of bridleways and footpaths. There’s also a pony trekking centre in the village, so you can enjoy the same on four legs.

But many people visit us just to enjoy life on the farm. And Farbrook Farm is not just any farm – we’re an alpaca breeding farm!  Here, you’ll be surrounded by fields of these beautiful, friendly and inquisitive animals, and you’re welcome to walk among them. We have a herd of around 30, and they’ll enjoy coming to ‘look you over’. Please make sure you keep your dog on a lead when you’re around the alpacas. If you or your children would like to get involved in looking after them, let us know and we’ll arrange it.

Children and Dogs Welcome!

We have young children ourselves and your children are always very welcome here.  The garden is secure and safe for small children, and our access road is very quiet.  None of our livestock pose any danger to people.

As well as alpacas, we have chickens, ducks, sheep, pigs, and an enthusiastic and friendly black Labrador dog on our farm!  We’re very pet friendly and your well behaved pets are most welcome. There is plenty of room for off-lead walking on the farm.

Don’t just take our word for it!
