Located on the Chatsworth Estate in one of the most charming villages in the Peak District, The Devonshire Arms at Pilsley is a traditional English inn specialising in great food, excellent ales and comfy rooms.

The Inn

The food on offer at the Inn is a very sophisticated take on pub fare.  The menu changes weekly and with the seasons and uses the freshest local ingredients available, most of which come from the Chatsworth Estate itself, so you are always guaranteed the finest and freshest locally sourced ingredients.  The drinks on offer in the pub include great local ales on tap, including Chatsworth Gold.  The Devonshire Arms at Pilsley also offers the perfect place for Sunday Lunch.  We offer an excellent choice of traditional roasts, freshly made Yorkshire Puddings and home-made desserts.

The Accommodation

Our gorgeous traditional country Inn has thirteen hotel bedrooms owned by the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire.  It is only a short picturesque walk from Chatsworth House itself and blends its idyllic village setting with contemporary comfort.  Each of our supremely comfortable bedrooms is furnished in its own style and is equipped with little extras to make your stay a truly memorable one.  Large comfortable beds, luxury towels, wrap around bathrobes and freshly ground coffee on the tea tray adds to the attention to detail in the room.

Our selection of bedrooms range from Petite Double Rooms to our delightful Four Poster Farmhouse Rooms, with each room offering outstanding comfort, ideal for short or long stays in the Peak District.  Our Petite, Classic and Deluxe rooms are located on the first floor of the main Inn, whilst our six Four Poster rooms are located a short stone’s throw away in our beautifully restored Farmhouse.  We welcome well-behaved dogs in our Farmhouse Rooms.

The Location

You will want to take the time to explore the village of Pilsley, including the famous Chatsworth Farm Shop.  Chatsworth House itself is also a must – just short drive away or a very lovely walk through Edensor along a country road and down a green lane.  The Devonshire Arms is also perfectly positioned for discovering the hills and dales of the Peak District National Park, as well as the plague village of Eyam, the local caves and caverns, as well as Haddon Hall and Hardwick Hall.
