The Old Chapel : Accommodation
Sleeping 4 people in two luxurious, contemporary en-suite bedrooms, the Old Chapel is ideal for families or two couples wanting something special.
The large lounge has two sofas and a wonderful cosy feel, with full central heating and an electric wood-burning stove. It’s the perfect space in which to relax after a day exploring the countryside, watching the satellite TV. Free Wifi is also available.
The large entrance into the bright, stylish kitchen gives the Old Chapel a semi open-plan feeling, creating a light and airy social space. With a washing machine, fridge-freezer and dishwasher, together with all everyday essentials, the kitchen provides everything you could need for a homely stay.
On the same level are the two stunning bedrooms, which have been decorated to a high standard, both having the benefit of modern en-suite bathrooms, each with a large walk-in shower. One bedroom has a King-sized bed, the other a Super King-sized bed which can be split into two singles if required.
One of the key features of the Old Chapel are the beautiful arched windows throughout, offering views of the pretty village and its magnificent church, known as the ‘Cathedral of the Peak’’. It looks beautiful in the day and even more amazing lit up in the evening – you won’t be able to stop gazing out of the window!
Outside there’s a pretty courtyard area overlooking the village, with a dining table to enjoy a meal in the sunshine. There’s also a garden sofa area to enjoy a coffee in the morning, or a glass of fizz at the end of a day!
The Old Chapel : Location
The lovely Peak District village of Tideswell is the perfect place to experience village life. There’s everything you could need here, including a butcher, bakeries, a village store, numerous cafés, three pubs, a luxury restaurant and two fish and chip shops, as well as the magnificent ‘Cathedral of the Peak’ 17th Century Church, all just a couple of minutes’ walk from The Old Chapel.
Be sure to visit Tideswell’s Annual Food Festival if you are around at the end of May, when the cobbled streets are lined with stalls selling locally produced food and drink, as well as many fun activities.
Just a short stroll down one of the pretty country lanes takes you to the lovely village of Litton, with its village green, country pub and a convenience store/tearooms owned and run by the locals.
Within easy walking distance is Tideswell Dale Nature Reserve. This is a stunning stretch of the Wye Valley, a protected habitat for numerous species of butterflies, wildflowers and birds. The traffic-free Monsal Trail is also nearby, where cycles can be hired to enjoy this beautiful former railway line with wonderful views over Monsal Dale.
The Peak District is a stunning place for walking, cycling, climbing and all outdoor pursuits. There are more than 1,800 miles of footpaths and bridleways in the National Park.
