I’m an Independent Wedding Celebrant from Sheffield called Suzy (she/her), also known as Wonderland Ceremonies. I believe Wedding Ceremonies should be as unique as the to-be-weds. My goal is to flip the narrative on the ceremony being “The Boring Bit” by injecting fun, laughter, and a sprinkle of madness into your day.
Inclusivity is very important to me, as part of the LGBTQIA+ community myself. Wonderland Ceremonies is a safe space that celebrates ALL love and ALL genders.
Why Choose a Celebrant?
With a Celebrant-led wedding, you can get married any place, any time and include anything your little heart can dream up. There are no rules! Those pictures on your Pinterest board of a wedding in a forest, up a mountain, or on a beach? I’d bet my house that’s a celebrant-led wedding!
What about the Legal Bit?
When a baby is born their birthday is traditionally celebrated on the anniversary of their birth, NOT when the birth is registered. Why is a wedding any different?! Speak to your local authority about a two-by-two ceremony, which is a stripped down version for you and two witnesses to attend and get the paperwork done and dusted. This can be a better option for my enby and trans friends out there, since the legal ceremony may use needlessly gendered terminology, your legal names, and assigned s3x at birth. Having this part separate from your big day can alleviate your worries over any of this. It can be done either before or after your wedding, saving the part you share with your friends and family for a Celebrant! We don’t give a flying cluck about your legal documents, will always be respectful of your pronouns, and never mis-gender you!
Celebrant Vs Registrar
Would you like a relaxed atmosphere, a fun and completely bespoke ceremony, to consume a cheeky beverage before/during your ceremony, and have the freedom to get married ANYWHERE? Then you need a Celebrant! Registrars have a set script, often have to stick to a strict time schedule as they book multiple weddings a day, forbid cheeky beverage consumption, and can only conduct ceremonies in appointed venues. Yawn-a-rooney! Celebrants like myself will only book one wedding per day. If something happens that delays the start time, you won’t have to worry about us not being there when you walk down the aisle. We are with you from the start of your wedding journey, making it more like having an old pal up there with you than a total stranger!

My prices start at £650.00, and will only increase for specific criteria such as travel expenses over 30 miles outside of Sheffield, sourcing of more elaborate materials for rituals (within reason, I won’t charge your for hand-fasting yarn for example but a besom/broom is a bit more pricey!), overnight accommodation if required etc.
