When you’ve explored the shopping delights of the Derbyshire Gift Centre, right next door you’ll find The Eating House.  This friendly café offers a warm welcome, fine food and the best coffee for miles!

Their tented village allows you to enjoy your meal or afternoon tea alfresco in your own personal gazebo. Booking is not required.

At The Eating House you’ll find a tempting selection of home-cooked food, including a great selection of vegan and coeliac options. Reward yourself with fresh coffee and an indulgent cake, or enjoy a delicious lunch before heading off for a walk in the wonderful surrounding countryside.  

The Eating House is open from 10.00am to 5.30pm seven days a week, for breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea.

A Great Peak District Day Out

Whether you’re on holiday exploring the beautiful Peak District countryside or out walking locally in Calver, a visit to The Derbyshire Gift Centre and The Eating House makes a perfect addition to your day out.  

If you’re in the area, why not try the lovely Let’s Go Peak District Walk that goes right past the door of The Derbyshire Gift Centre – stopping off for a well-earned break at The Eating House on the way?!  

This 8 mile walk offers some of the very best views in the Peak District, following a spectacular route across Froggatt Edge, Curbar Edge and Baslow Edge with the wide vistas of the stunning Derwent Valley laid out below.  It then descends gently on moorland trails through the pretty villages of Curbar, Calver, Froggatt and Grindleford, on country lanes, field tracks and shady woodland paths alongside the River Derwent. 

Also close by to The Derbyshire Gift Centre you’ll find the ancient market town of Bakewell, renowned for its lovely independent shops alongside the River Wye, as well as the country house estates of Chatsworth and Haddon Hall. All perfect additions to make a Great Peak District Day Out of your trip to this lovely place!
