Monsal Head Peak District
Monsal Head is located on the B6465 that runs between Ashford-in-the-Water and Wardlow Mires, and, as such is located on a lovely countryside drive, and is really easy to find when day tripping.
Monsal Head, is a cluster of houses, pub and café that seem to be a satellite to the village of Little Longstone (which is also worth a visit), and here you will find fantastic, and dramatic views over the Wye Valley, and the Monsal Trail as it passes over the impressive five arched Headstone Viaduct. This is a classic, not to miss Peak District view which is hugely popular with photographers.
The Headstone Viaduct is part of the Monsal Trail, used by thousands of walkers, cyclists and horse-riders each year. A former Victorian railway route, its old railway tunnels were re-opened in 2011.
