Exploring around Chatsworth House
Discover one of the Peak District's most magnificent landmarks at Chatsworth House, the spectacular home of the Devonshire family, surrounded by beautiful gardens, sweeping parkland and the rolling hills of the Derwent Valley. Whether you're exploring the historic house, discovering the gardens or enjoying the wider estate, Chatsworth is a wonderful centrepiece for a day out in Derbyshire.
There's plenty to explore beyond the house and gardens. Wander through the estate parkland towards the picturesque village of Edensor, with its distinctive cottages and historic church, or follow the paths beside the River Derwent for beautiful views back towards Chatsworth House. For a more adventurous walk, head towards Baslow Edge, where the gritstone escarpment offers far-reaching views across the surrounding countryside.
The nearby village of Baslow is another excellent place to explore, while Beeley and Pilsley offer a quieter glimpse of life on the Chatsworth Estate. A little further afield, the historic market town of Bakewell and the magnificent medieval manor house at Haddon Hall provide even more reasons to spend time discovering this beautiful part of the Peak District.
With countryside walks, charming estate villages, heritage attractions and seasonal events all within easy reach, Chatsworth is much more than a single attraction. It's a gateway to some of the finest scenery and most memorable places in the Derbyshire Dales.
