Eyam Repair Café – makes a difference!
Eyam Repair Café was launched in February 2019. Part of a worldwide network of Repair Cafés, our aim is simple: to repair items rather than throwing them out.
In the first six months our talented volunteers have already fixed more than 220 items and so prevented them from going to landfill. This has saved 5.23 Tonnes of CO2 emissions – the equivalent of driving a family car around the world!
How does it work?
The Repair Café is held at Eyam Church Centre, Church Street, Eyam, S32 5QH. The next event is on Saturday September 14 and then every second Saturday until the end of the year.
At each Repair Café event there is tea, coffee, cakes and biscuits available, so you can sit, chat and relax while we repair your items.
There is no fixed charge but we ask for a voluntary donation to help cover the costs of running the events.
What can we repair?
Items mended so far at the Eyam Repair Café have included lamps, toasters, lawn mowers, irons, radios, computers and clothing. In addition, at each event we’ve sharpened various items, including kitchen utensils and garden tools.
