A Visit to Chatsworth House
The jewel in the Peak District’s crown, Chatsworth House is a magnificent English country house set in over 1,000 acres of parkland on the outskirts of Bakewell in Derbyshire. There’s more than enough for a full day out here, with plenty to keep the whole family happy.
The lavish interiors of the house are simply stunning, and visitors can explore more than 30 rooms, from the magnificent Painted Hall and regal State Rooms to the airy Sculpture Gallery. Outside you’ll find more than 100 acres of formal gardens, designed by Capability Brown, as well as a farmyard and fantastic children’s Adventure Playground.
There are numerous cafés, restaurants and gift shops, and no trip is complete without a visit to the Chatsworth Estate Farm Shop in the nearby village of Pilsley, which sells a huge range of quality food and drink products, many from local producers and suppliers.
