Dove Stone Reservoir is a spectacular spot in the far north west of the Peak District National Park, on the edge of Oldham. Surrounded by hills and moors, this popular destination offers a sailing club, a permanent orienteering course, an extensive network of footpaths and excellent access to the stunning moorland beyond. Our 4 mile Dove Stone Reservoir Walk gives you a great taste of this part of the Peak District, taking you briefly into the Chew Hills and the moors of Dove Stone Moss before returning for an easy circuit of the reservoir with fabulous open views. The site is managed by the RSPB in partnership with Oldham Council, United Utilities and the Peak District National Park Authority, ensuring its natural beauty is preserved for all to enjoy. With two pay and display car parks and public toilets on site, Dove Stone Reservoir makes for a wonderful and accessible Peak District day out.

Our beautiful Dove Stone Reservoir Walk (4 miles) gives you a great tase of the countryside in this part of the Peak District. It takes you briefly into the Chew Hills and the moors of Dove Stone Moss, and then returns for an easy circuit of the lovely reservoir, with fabulous open views of this wonderful area.
The site is managed by the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB) in partnership with Oldham Council, United Utilities and the Peak District National Park Authority.

How do I get to Dove Stone Reservoir?
Dove Stone Reservoir is situated on the A635 leading out of Greenfield towards Holmfirth. The postcode is OL3 7NE. There are two public car parks available on the site (pay and display), and there are also public toilets.
