Exploring around Fieldhead Campsite
Fieldhead Campsite puts you right in Edale, surrounded by some of the most impressive walking country in the Peak District. This is very much a place where you can arrive, settle in and explore on foot, rather than needing to get back in the car every time you want to go somewhere.
Edale is closely associated with Kinder Scout and the high ground of the Dark Peak, and there are walking possibilities in almost every direction. The village is also the traditional starting point of the Pennine Way, making this an especially good location if walking is going to be a major part of your stay.
Don't overlook Edale itself. Although small, the village and its surrounding landscape are worth exploring at a slower pace, particularly if you don't fancy spending every day tackling the hills. Edale railway station is another real advantage, opening up possibilities for exploring elsewhere in the Hope Valley without driving.
For longer days out, Castleton, Hope and the rest of the Hope Valley are all within easy reach, but one of the great pleasures of staying here is simply having so much classic Peak District countryside immediately around you.
