Billy’s Bothy is a large, luxury, self-catering holiday cottage, with hot tub, sauna and games room, sleeping 12 to 16 people in absolute comfort. It sits within the private, picturesque and beautifully landscaped grounds of Grade II-listed Offcote Grange on the edge of Ashbourne. Located in the beautiful Derbyshire Dales and close to the amazing Peak District National Park, it has magnificent views across open countryside, a small natural lake and flower meadows. Billy’s Bothy is a tranquil haven in which to relax and unwind – perfect for that special get-together with friends, family or colleagues, or even as an intimate wedding venue or a unique place to hold a special event!

Accommodation at Billy’s Bothy

Full of character and charm, Billy’s Bothy has been decorated and furnished to the highest of standards, and offers quality accommodation with all modern amenities, perfect for large groups.

The large, beautifully furnished lounge has a log-burning stove, ideal for cosy evenings after a day out exploring. The lounge opens directly onto the patio and garden area for al fresco dining on sunny days.

The bespoke, separate dining room sits between the lounge and the galleried kitchen, overlooking the main entrance hall. It’s a great communal space for friends and family.

Billy’s Bothy has an exceptionally well-equipped, galleried, farmhouse-style kitchen, with quality granite worktops and a pottery Belfast sink. You’ll find everything you need here for cooking up a feast, including an electric double-oven cooker, a slow cooker, a microwave, a dishwasher, a large fridge-freezer, a washing machine and a tumble dryer, a blender and a mixer, kettles, coffee-makers, and a toaster. There’s even a large wine cooler especially for parties! Catering can be arranged to make your stay extra special.

At Billy’s Bothy you have a choice of five character bedrooms (and an optional sixth annexed bedroom), all with quality en-suite bathrooms, providing sleeping for 12 to 16 people.

All the bedrooms are furnished with custom, handmade antique pine furniture and brass and cast-iron beds which add extra character and charm to this beautiful cottage. The rooms also have coordinated furnishings and linen, complementing the character of the cottage. All the bedrooms have LCD TVs with Freeview and WiFi, making this a party house to enjoy.

Outside you’ll find a beautiful garden complete with a BBQ, fire pit, and teak and cast-iron patio furniture, perfect for sitting out in the fresh air and watching the sun set.

Amenities and features include:

Oak, stone and tiled flooring throughout, with beautiful Indian rugs.
A spacious lounge with a log-burning stove, and seating for 16, a large-screen Smart TV with Freeview and a DVD player, an iPod dock and WiFi.
An intimate dining room to accommodate all guests. For those of you wanting a little pampering, catering can be arranged. Pre-booking is essential for external facilities.
A choice of five or six en-suite bedrooms.
Full oil central heating.
Private off-road car parking for all guests.
A hot tub and sauna, and a full-size snooker table (by arrangement only).
Cycle storage.
Large, beautifully landscaped gardens, a patio with furniture, and a solid fuel BBQ and fire pit.

If you would like to bring your horse with you, we have 10 acres of secure pastureland with water adjoining the cottage that is available. Please ask for details.

Campervans and Touring Caravans

Offcote Grange also have a small, adult only, caravan site taking 4 to 6 vans between April to September. Sorry, no pets either.

The beautiful site is surrounded by pastureland, grazed by donkeys and young cattle, with large landscaped gardens and a walled garden which you are welcome to view. There are fabulous views across the Henmoor Valley and over the fish filled nature lake.

The site is grass, mowed with a very slight gradient on part, with electric hook ups available. There are cold water taps on site, with a cold water, pot washing sink. You will have use of a luxury shower block, with hot and cold water, and toilets. (Including a disabled facilities). There are 3 sinks, with mirror, shaving points and sockets for hair dryers.

Brown water disposal and rubbish disposal are available.

Weddings and Hen Parties at Billy’s Bothy

Self-organised wedding parties are very welcome at Billy’s Bothy, and the beautiful grounds are perfect for your big day.

Before the big event Billy’s Bothy are also happy to welcome careful hen parties. There’s a sauna, hot tub and a games room on site, plus catering and pampering and a host of activities.

Despite being surrounded by rural peace and quiet, Billy’s Bothy is situated only just over a mile away from the historical market town of Ashbourne, full of beautiful buildings, cafes, restaurants, gift and antique shops.

Located in central Derbyshire, it’s the perfect base to explore the many things to see and do in the area – great for museums, historic houses, walking, cycling and a host of activities for all ages to enjoy!

Why not visit Chatsworth House or Sudbury Hall, or explore the mysterious caves of the Castleton? Also close by is Carsington Water, with its cycle hire and water sports centre.

There’s no shortage of outdoor and adventure activities nearby, including paintballing, quad biking, laser tag, clay pigeon shooting, archery, clay pigeon shooting, golf, fishing and tennis. A visit to the steam or tramway museums, or the thrills and spills of Alton Towers – a premier theme park – is a must! This area promises you a holiday to remember!
