The Hotel With a Difference!

The Peak District’s Bike and Boot hotel is a fantastic, dog-friendly hotel with a difference! Located in the Hope Valley, it’s trendy, it’s vibrant, it’s colourful and it embraces and encourages all aspects of Peak District fun! With 60 dog-friendly rooms, a grooming room, a bike store with repair station, a fabulous restaurant and an awesome film room, it’s excellent for hikers, bikers, couples, families and of course your furry friends! Bike and Boot is the perfect place to return to after a day exploring this fabulous area and, as there’s no need to book, it’s great for passers-by to call in for delicious food and drink too. Staying guests are even rewarded with free hot drinks all day and free cake around 4pm each afternoon in The Retreat lounge, along with many other Bike and Boot freebies, including free parking and charging points!

Super Dog Friendly!

People of all ages are welcome, but dogs are the real guests at Bike and Boot! The friendly staff will go out of their way to ensure that you and your four-legged friends have the most enjoyable, relaxing stay, and they’re sure to receive oodles of fuss! With full access to the whole hotel, dogs can join you in The Retreat for coffee and cake, and in The Bareca restaurant and bar for lunch or evening meal. With jars of dog treats scattered throughout the hotel, they’re sure to feel as spoilt and relaxed as you are.

Don’t worry if they’ve gotten a little grubby during the day, there’s a special grooming room at Bike and Boot with a professional dog bath and shower, dog shampoos, towels, and a professional drying table, so they’ll soon be smelling as fresh as a Peak District daisy.

Each of the bedrooms have special dog mats, which are fluffy, easy to clean and help regulate your dogs body temperature. However, feel free to bring their own dog bed or blanket if you prefer.  There’s always a special toy waiting for them too!

There’s a selection of 60 vibrant, modern en-suite rooms available at Bike and Boot, all at competitive rates. Each of the rooms has been decorated and styled to create a clean, bright, yet relaxing space, with quality linens and trendy accessories, again embracing everything we love about the Peak District National Park.

Large Double or Twin, suitable for 2-4 guests, with a super king-sized bed or twin beds, and a day bed suitable for one adult or two children.

Medium Accessible Double or Twin, suitable for 2 guests, with a super king-sized bed or twin beds, and an accessible bathroom.

Small Double
, suitable for 2 guests, with a king-sized bed.

Each of the rooms include:

    Outside there is front and rear patio seating for guests, so that you can continue to enjoy the fresh air when you return to the hotel. There is also parking for 120 vehicles, including charging points and a covered service area for classic and vintage cars and motorbikes, providing air, water and light.


The Retreat

Cake after a walk or cycle is the rules, right?! When you return to The Retreat at Bike and Boot, free hot drinks will be waiting for staying guests, and at around 4pm so will delicious free cake! 

With stylish décor and comfy sofas, The Retreat is a lovely place to relax and catch up with friends, and there are even board games too, perfect for keeping the children entertained before dinner or film night.

Remember, passing visitors are more than welcome to call in for hot drinks and cake off the menu too!


Bareca Restaurant

The Bike and Boot’s Bareca Restaurant is vibrant, colourful, bright and inviting, with an awesome menu. It’s available for both staying guests and passers-by too, and even better you don’t need to book – just turn up and choose from tasty small plates, moreish sharing platters, succulent steaks, whopping burgers, delicious seafood, comforting pizza, and divine desserts and sundaes!

Larger groups of 8 or more are welcome too, where booking is recommended, to enjoy a wonderful tapas style sharing menu.

Be sure to call in for a drink too, or relax after your meal with something from the excellent drinks menu. There’s everything from Harrogate Spring Water and other soft drinks such as Franklin & Sons Elderflower Lemonade, through to great wines, real ales, ciders, champagne, and spirits for those all important cocktails, including The Bakewell Punch!

Awesome Film Club

Exploring the Peak District is great, we all love it, but what should you do at the end of the day? What next? Bike and Boot have got that covered too with their awesome Film Club, with cinema-style seating and full surround sound! Three movies are shown each day at 3pm, 6pm and 9pm and are all free for staying guests. No need to book, just grab yourself some popcorn, or pizza and drinks from the Barcea Restaurant, sit back and enjoy! 

Dogs are welcome too, but due to the surround sound, they may prefer to snuggle up in their rooms and enjoy the peace and quiet.

Bikes and Boots!

Bikers and Hikers are sorted here! Firstly, there’s a fabulous indoor Bike Storage and Maintenance Room, where you can securely lock up your bike, and even give it a clean down with Muck Off cleaners in the special wash area. If you need to make any adjustments or repairs, there’s even a maintenance tower, so you can tinker away as you please. 

There’s also provision for washing down muddy walking boots, with handy lockers too.

Great Central Location

The Peak District’s Bike and Boot hotel is located in the picturesque Hope Valley, surrounded by beautiful countryside and some of the most breathtaking walking and cycling routes in the area.  

The delightful village of Hathersage, with many footpaths, including the route to fabulous Stanage Edge, is just a couple of miles from Bike and Boot, as is Bamford with glorious views over Ladybower Reservoir

The popular village of Castleton is just three miles away, with a great selection of bars, cafes and independent shops. Here the hikers can enjoy a hike up the mighty Mam Tor, the cyclists can enjoy the legendary Winnats Pass, and the whole family will enjoy a trip underground in the many caverns!

Hope itself is a great little village with bars, tea rooms and shops, so you’ll have plenty of choice for places to visit during your stay.

Being smack bang in the very centre of the National Park, Bike and Boot is the ideal base to enjoy and embrace everything about the Peak District Park, just as much as Bike and Boot do!
