The Maynard’s bar is open daily from 8am, offering everything from cooked breakfasts, delicious lunches and evening meals, to relaxing evening nightcaps. Warm yourself by the crackling log burner, enjoy a meal in the recently refurbished fine dining restaurant, and on those sunnier days enjoy time on the renovated terrace and lawn area, taking in glorious views of the Hope Valley.

As the meals are lovingly prepared on site by the dedicated chefs, using local, fresh ingredients, all meals can be tailored to suit any dietary needs for everyone to enjoy. Before heading out into this fabulous part of the Peak District, enjoy an energising breakfast such as a full English or buckwheat pancakes with berries. Throughout the day call in to enjoy sandwiches, steaks, burgers, sharing platters and much more – there really is something for everyone, including a great children’s menu … and dog treats!


Afternoon teas are also available including a Classic with light sandwiches and cake, or a more savoury afternoon tea with a Fish Finger Butty, a Pork Pie and a Yorkshire Pudding filled with Roast Beef.

There is also a fantastic drinks menu with over 20 local gins, cast ales, wines and other favourite tipples, together with locally sourced Roastology Coffees and Joe’s Teas.


Accommodation

For those wishing to stay a little longer, as you would imagine, the rooms at The Maynard are stylish and contemporary, whilst retaining some rustic features, to provide a real relaxing retreat.  

There is a wide selection of rooms such as The Snug for the single traveller, Standard and Superior Rooms, each with king sized or super king sized beds and family rooms. Each of these rooms are gorgeously presented and each include ensuite bath/shower room. For those looking for something a little special, choose from the Superior Suite with super king bed, free standing bath and vanity units, or the extra special Sir Don Bradman Suite, which provides a real bit of luxury with emperor bed, free standing bath, fireplace, vanity suites and amazing views of the surrounding countryside.

If you’re looking for the perfect wedding venue in the Peak District, The Maynard has it all. The Chatsworth Suite oozes grandeur and can host up to 130 guests in the day and 200 for an evening reception. Your dedicated events manager can discuss a variety of packages with you to make this as relaxed, intimate, or as grand as you choose. Imagine guests being wowed by the original features of this fabulous room, before mingling on your own private lawn area, drinking champagne, whilst taking in those fabulous views! 

Meal packages can be tailored to suit your chosen requirements, from an exquisite sit-down meal, canapés on the lawn, hog roast on the terrace, or an informal but delicious finger buffet.

Located in Grindleford in the Hope Valley of the Peak District National Park, you are surrounding by breathtaking countryside and an abundance of fabulous walks. Discover the picturesque Padley Gorge, the National Trust’s Longshaw Estate or the breaktaking views from nearby Froggatt and Curbar Edge. Less than 15 minutes’ drive away is the prestigious Chatsworth Estate, with stately home and deer park. The market town of Bakewell is also only 20 minutes’ drive away, with a selection of independent shops, eateries, and a historic weekly market.
