Rustic Charm and Modern Comfort

Originally built as a coaching inn and tollhouse to serve those travelling between Sheffield and Derbyshire, The Peacock at Owler Bar retains much of its historical charm, with rustic timber features and original brickwork. This Grade II listed building has been carefully renovated, preserving its welcoming character while adding contemporary touches. The result is a country pub that seamlessly blends rustic charm with modern comfort. You’ll find cosy corners with traditional fireplaces, larger dining spaces, alongside a stylish bar area, creating a space that’s perfect for any occasion.

Enjoy the warmth of a crackling fire on a winter day and views of the surrounding moorland, or embrace the country fresh air in the outdoor seating area.

A Celebration of Local Produce

At The Peacock at Owler Bar, a passion for the Peak District’s rich farming heritage is evident on every plate. The passionate chefs use only locally sourced suppliers for its meats and fresh produce, ensuring that every dish is bursting with seasonal flavour and freshness. From succulent beef, pork, poultry, and lamb sourced from nearby farms to artisan cheeses and real ales, The Peacock’s commitment to use local ingredients is a true celebration of the Peak District’s farming community that they are proud to support.

Everything on the menu is homemade under the guidance of Head Chef Alina Gagea. Alina’s impressive journey from volleyball player for the Romanian national team to Head Chef is a testament to her dedication and hard work, having risen through the ranks with the Longbow team from Pastry Chef to Sous Chef.
