The Hide is a stylish hotel offering affordable, luxury accommodation, with access to the breathtaking 35,000-acre Chatsworth Estate, with a selection of rooms for solo travellers, couples and families – some are dog friendly too! Nestled on the moorland edge, The Hide offers a combination of rustic elegance inspired by the local stone barns and ‘hides’ to offer a warm, authentic, and welcoming atmosphere.

Surrounded by rolling countryside, with walks from the door, The Hide has everything you could wish for to enjoy the best of the Peak District. With bike and boot wash stations, a dog wash area and cycle storage to keep everything clean and secure, it’s the perfect base in which to enjoy all that this wonderful area has to offer. The helpful team can even prepare a packed tiffin box for lunch and welcome you back with tea and cake.

Guests at The Hide can also book multi-entry tickets to Chatsworth House for unlimited visits during their stay and even conservation tours from January to March, when the house is closed to the public! Even more, a stay also allows access to The Chatsworth Health Club, including a swimming pool and treatments; The Chatsworth Golf Club; and The Chatsworth Fishery on the River Derwent, which is usually for members only (additional fees apply).

For those wishing to stop by for food The Hide welcomes families, walkers, riders, groups and dog owners to enjoy delicious meals from the Grill and Pizzeria, where the authentic taste of wood-fired cooking is a highlight, especially when the outdoor pizzeria opens during the glorious summer months.

The Hide – Inside and Out

The design concept for the recent renovation of The Hide is firmly rooted in its moorland surroundings and the rich history of the Chatsworth Estate. The interiors are influenced by the local cabins, stone barns, and observation ‘hides’, using a blend of natural textures and an earthy colour palette to create a warm and inviting atmosphere, enhanced by welcoming open fires.

Throughout the hotel, guests will find a collection of art and historical artefacts, including personal family portraits, historical prints, and unique items sourced directly from The Chatsworth Estate.

The dining experience extends seamlessly between the cosy, rustic interior of the Grill and Pizzeria and the expansive outdoor dining spaces. During the warmer months, the terrace truly comes into its own, providing stunning views over the open countryside, with the stone pizza oven, BBQ, and fire pit ensuring that the joy of al fresco dining is maximised.

The Hide Grill, Pizzeria and Rodizio Nights!

The Hide Grill and Pizzeria is inspired by the spirit of classic outdoor cooking on the campfire, striving to serve fresh, seasonal food sourced directly from the land, cooked to perfection over flame, and designed for sharing. It is a welcoming space for everyone – families, weary walkers, cyclists, and dog owners, whether staying overnight or simply passing through for a hearty meal.

The Executive Chef, Adam Harper, works in close collaboration with Chatsworth gardeners, estate farmers, and trusted local suppliers to ensure that the produce on the menus is of the highest standard and truly reflective of the area.

Fuel yourself, ready to start the day with a buffet-style breakfast with moreish pastries, fresh breads and bagels with a selection of toppings, seasonal fruits, continental meats and cheeses, oats and a selection of cereals, all served with juices, teas and freshly brewed coffee. Or enjoy breakfast cooked to order, such as a full English or buttermilk pancakes.

The All Day menu has something for everyone! Choose from favourites such as Chatsworth Farm Beef & Ale Pie to Market Fish of the Day. Enjoy authentic stone-baked pizzas with a great choice of toppings, flavoursome salads, succulent burgers and other fabulous offerings such as BBQ rib plates or sharing boards cooked on the grill!

New for June and July 2026 – Rodizio Nights!
Every Thursday in June and July The Hide will be hosting Rodizio night.
The team will be cooking a changing run of cuts over the coals (steak, brisket, chicken, pork belly etc) bringing them to the table when ready.
Unlimited table-side carved meats served rodizio style, setting the pace with a green‑and‑red token on your table. A premium salad bar opens the meal, with hot sides available as a small add‑on.

Pricing is: £24.95 per adult, £12.50 per child, with sides and desserts kept separate.
First seating: 6:30pm
Last booking: 8:00pm
Fire & Feast Thursdays | Chatsworth Escapes

For those looking for a traditional taste of the countryside, the kitchen offers a fantastic Sunday Lunch Menu, showcasing the finest estate-reared meats with all the traditional trimmings.

Young guests will be delighted with the dessert offering, which includes an irresistible ice cream and topping station, and the opportunity for toasting s’mores by the outdoor fire pit when the weather permits!

The Hide offers a selection of bespoke rooms, each designed with comfort, style, and practicality in mind, providing the perfect base to relax after a long day of exploring The Peak District National Park.

The Hide caters for varying group sizes with options ranging from cosy rooms for solo travellers and couples up to larger family and bunk rooms accommodating up to four people. A selection of rooms are specially designated as dog friendly, complete with facilities to wash muddy paws. Furthermore, accessible accommodation has been prioritised, offering wider spaces and carefully considered bathroom facilities to ensure comfort and ease of movement for all visitors.

Cosy Rooms (2 People): Located on the first or second floor, these rooms are designed for single travellers or couples, with a double or king-sized bed. They are modern and bright and feature a comfortable bed, ensuring a restful night’s sleep.
Comfortable Rooms (3 People): These rooms are ideal for two guests with the flexibility of an extra bed for a little one if required, with a double or king-size bed and a pull-out single bed. Again, maintaining a bright, modern, and inviting feel.
Spacious Rooms (4 People): Sleeping up to two adults and two children, they include a double or king-size bed and two pull-out beds, perfect for family stays, and they’re pet friendly too.
Bunk Rooms (4 People): Sleeping up to two adults and two children, these rooms have a king-size bed and a set of cabin beds.
Accessible Accommodation (2 People): Located on the ground floor, these rooms offer enhanced space, a double or king-size bed, and specially adapted bathrooms, including wet rooms or lowered baths, all designed to ensure ease and comfort. These rooms are also available as dog-friendly options.
