CJB Training and Adventure can help with all of those things and more!

CJB Training and Adventure

You can either book onto a CJB Training and Adventure group session, or they can provide bespoke courses on a one-to-one basis and organise tailor-made group experiences, which are ideal for those looking to host a Stag/Hen Weekend or team building event.

All experiences follow full health and safety protocols and are risk assessed and led by qualified instructors. CJB Training and Adventure want everyone to enjoy these wonderful activities by providing fully inclusive experiences in a relaxed, patient environment, encouraging all abilities to get the very most out of the day.

Thrilling Watersports

The Peak District has numerous picturesque reservoirs, fast flowing rivers and tranquil streams, providing a variety of locations to try out a selection of water sports, all under the watchful supervision and guidance of qualified instructors.

CJB Training and Adventure 1

During 1.5-hour taster sessions, CJB Training and Adventure will use their expertise to teach you to either kayak, canoe or paddle board along varying waters, with fun and games along the way, leaving with a well-deserved award!

Find out more about the taster sessions available here:

If you simply want to have a go under your own steam, head to Hollingwood Hub, on the Chesterfield Canal, where you can hire stand up paddleboards, solo sit on top kayaks, tandem sit on top kayaks, and canoe seating up to three for anything from 15 minutes to 3 hours. Find out more here.

CJB Training and Adventure 2

Gorge walking, often also known as ghyll scrambling, is a fun way to explore mountain streams, working your way up or down stream, overcoming challenging boulders, climbing waterfalls, sliding down natural rockslides, or jumping into pools! Again, with fully certified instructors and all protective equipment, you’re sure to have a memorable time, whilst learning about this wonderful landscape too.

CJB Training and Adventure 3

Of course, one of the most rewarding and fun methods of sailing across the water is by building your very own raft! Will it work, won’t it work? Will you stay aboard? Will your mate fall in?! CJB Training and Adventure will ensure you build a successful raft, teaching you a range of resourceful techniques and other skills such as knot tying, enabling you to work together as a private team of up to 12 people, ideal for stag/hen parties and corporate team building events.

Navigation and Hikes

The Peak District is the most fabulous walking and hiking territory, just waiting to be explored. From the stunning lower farmlands and wooded valleys to the rugged peaks themselves with exposed open moorland carpeted with heather, this diverse landscape is beautiful, yet challenging for the inexperienced hiker. CJB Training and Adventure want you to have the freedom to have your own adventure though a series of guided walks and navigational courses.

CJB Training and Adventure 4

Have a private guide take you to the location of your choice, whilst teaching basic navigational skills along the way. Or perhaps join a group of like-minded individuals on various organised hikes to famous peaks such as Kinder Scout, the highest mountain in the Peak District, or nearby Dragon’s Back!

For those who want to gain confidence and understanding of map reading, then a professional mountain leader will teach you the use of a compass and provide you with the skills to navigate your own routes.

Find out more about these activities here:

Hit the Rocks

The rugged Peak District terrain provides many rocky crags for developing scrambling and rock-climbing skills. Once you’ve conquered the art of scrambling, you may prefer to have a go at indoor climbing before tackling the big rocks of some of the gritstone edges such as Stanage, Froggatt or Burbage! Whether you are a complete beginner or looking to develop your skills, CJB Training and Adventure have the experience and the expertise to guide you to success.

Hen, Stag & Team Building

Of course, all of the above experiences make the most awesome hen and stag weekends, and the most fabulous team building events. Tailor-made packages enable you to choose one event for the morning and one event for the afternoon, with the option of bringing your own packed lunch, or enjoying a meal in one of the many village pubs. Or maybe you’d like a go at raft building with your mates, which is bound to get you working as a team whilst having a good laugh too.
