A popular walking route with families is Black Rocks near Cromford, just four miles away, where after a short climb, you are rewarded with the most spectacular views. The High Peak Trail is also great for cyclists to enjoy a 17-mile traffic-free route running from Buxton to CromfordCromford is a lovely little village bursting with history including Cromford Mills which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and a beautiful towpath along the Cromford Canal which has wildlife in abundance.

The Tavern at Tansley is close to so many family attractions, such as the inland “seaside” town of Matlock Bath with arcades, riverside walks and the fabulous Heights of Abraham. Children, parents and grandparents alike will all love taking a step back in time at Crich Tramway Village, a dog friendly attraction, which is not only home to the National Tramway Museum but is also a recreated period village with a traditional village pub.

Only a few miles away are many popular Derbyshire towns and villages, which can also be reached by the handy village bus, to places such as Ashover, Bakewell, and Chatsworth House to name just a few.
