The staff at The Peacock at Barlow take pride in putting loads of emphasis on their corking selection of beers! Not only do they have a fab variety of shelf beers, lots of favourites on tap and six cask ale lines, but they’re also proud as punch to have their own on-site brewery – Collyfobble Brewery! The results can all be sampled and enjoyed here too!

There is a selection of menus, including breakfast, lunch, dinner, children’s and seasonal specials, with vegetarian and vegan options, so everyone will be happy here! Each of the meals on offer are prepared using the very best local produce to create mouth-watering favourites, such as traditional granny’s pie, fish and chips, and vegetable curry, as well as their renowned Sunday Lunch. The seasonal specials are carefully selected and often have a quirky twist, meaning that there’s something new each time you visit – and trust us once you’ve been once, you’ll definitely be back!
For those who want to stay a little longer, The Peacock at Barlow have eight fabulous boutique rooms, each individually decorated and styled, to create retreats full of charm and character with a modern vibe and lots of special finishing touches.

The Peacock at Barlow are very proud to produce their own “belting good ales from Derbyshire!” in their very own microbrewery – Collyfobble Brewery. Brewed on the premises, Collyfobble Brewery produce their own label pale ales, stouts and bitters, all created with emphasis on their unique flavours.
Choose from a traditional mild (‘Mild, Tha Knows’), blonde beer (‘Dunna Wittle’), bitter (‘Bob On’) or pale ale (‘Sup-Wiyo’). Of course, each of these can be enjoyed in The Peacock at Barlow, but can also be bought in bottles to take away or ordered online as excellent gifts.
However, the best gift of all is a Collyfobble Brewery Tour for you and your friends, which includes a personalised tour of the brewery, followed by private use of The Peacock at Barlow’s tap room where you get to enjoy a delicious two course meal. Barlow is a lovely village, surrounded by beautiful rolling Derbyshire countryside which can be viewed from The Peacock at Barlow’s terrace. There are footpaths right from the door, including to nearby Linacre Reservoirs which has an abundance of wildlife.
This central location on the edge of the Peak District National Park makes it an excellent base for visitors to the Peak District and the perfect place to stop off for food and drinks after enjoying the area!
In around 15-20 minutes, visitors can enjoy so many walks, stately homes, villages and towns. Take in the fabulous gritstone edges of Curbar, Froggatt and Baslow on this wonderful 8 mile route, or explore the magnificent grounds of The Longhaw Estate and the picturesque Padley Gorge. The impressive Chatworth House Estate, with beautiful gardens and acres of deer park is a fabulous place to spend the day and chill at the side of the river. There are so many pretty villages within easy reach too, such as Calver and the historical village of Eyam. For those enjoy a spot of shopping, the market town of Bakewell is just the same distance away, with a great selection of tea rooms, pubs and independent shops. Just a few minutes further and you can be browsing the villages of Hathersage and Tideswell, and the many great nearby walks, or enjoying fish and chips in the landlocked ‘seaside town’ of Matlock Bath.
