Church Farm has been an organic farm for more than a decade, with the land farmed in the traditional, old fashioned way, as it has been managed for generations. Wildflowers still bloom in the lush meadows and the animals are all treated with respect and love. It is very important to the owners to protect and preserve the environment and wildlife on the farm for the future generations who should be lucky enough to live there.
Stanshope is a tranquil farming hamlet in the heart of the southern Peak District, much of which is now owned by the National Trust.
The wonderful landscape of the Peak District National Park, and Dovedale in particular, is a paradise for walkers, cyclists and all outdoor enthusiasts. There are innumerable beautiful walking trails in the area, many of which start right from the doorstep of the cottages.
There are also miles of cycling trails, along country lanes and former railway lines such as the Tissington Trail, High Peak Trail, Monsal Trail and Manifold Way. There are cycle hire stations at Mapleton (near Ashbourne), Parsley Hay (near Hartington) and Middleton Top (near Wirksworth).
The area is also wonderful for horse riding and the bridleways and country lanes across the Derbyshire Dales offer superb riding with spectacular views.
There really is no better place to unwind and explore the beauty of the Peak District National Park, all the time knowing that you have a luxurious cottage to return to, and a cosy fire to relax in front of.
