Nettletor Farm is a family-run dairy farm in the picturesque village of Hartington, set amidst the gently rolling hills that characterise this part of the Peak District. This busy farm has been in the family for four generations and covers 200 acres of stunning White Peak countryside.

Nestled in a private, peaceful courtyard within the farm grounds, Ash Tree Cottage is a cosy, characterful 2-bedroomed holiday cottage, with its own garden and patio area, as well as parking for two cars. It’s the perfect place to escape to the country and relax in this beautiful environment – for you and your dog!

Originally the pigsty and wash house, Ash Tree Cottage has been lovingly converted to the highest standards to provide luxury holiday accommodation for up to 4 people. The accommodation is all on one level, offering a spacious, comfortable and accessible place to stay for all guests. Disabled access is also available.

The modern lounge and dining area is light and spacious with comfortable seating and a flatscreen TV with Freeview and a DVD player. Thermostat-controlled underfloor heating ensures that you’ll be cosy all year round. WiFi is available throughout the cottage to keep you connected (if you want to be).

Next door to the lounge you’ll find the fully-equipped kitchen, fitted to a high standard with a dishwasher, hob, fridge-freezer, microwave and toaster. There’s everything you’ll need here for cooking up a feast, including complimentary milk and eggs fresh from the farm! 

The family bathroom comprises a toilet and luxurious walk-in wet room with heated towel rails. All towels are provided.

Ash Tree Cottage has two comfortable bedrooms. The spacious double bedroom has an en-suite walk-in wet room, plus plenty of storage space for your clothes and essentials. The twin bedroom has two standard single beds, a fitted wardrobe and dressing table.

Outside at Ash Tree Cottage you’ll find a private garden and patio area, with outside furniture and a barbecue – perfect for dining al fresco and soaking up the countryside fresh air!

Your four-legged friends are welcome at Ash Tree Cottage too – one dog per stay for an extra cost of £20. We know they’ll love their holiday here as much as you will!

Ash Tree Cottage Location

Ash Tree Cottage at Nettletor Farm is in Hartington, a busy and popular ‘honeypot’ village famed for its historic buildings and cheese production. The village church has sections that date from the 12th century with the rest being added through the 13th and 14th centuries and being sensitively restored in the 19th century. Hartington has been a centre for making Stilton Cheese since the 1900s.

Located deep in the White Peak area of the Peak District National Park, Hartington is located roughly halfway between the lovely towns of Ashbourne to the south and Buxton to the north. Both offer major shops and supermarkets along with an array of pubs, cafes, independent shops and places of interest.

Hartington village itself has a couple of great local pubs, gift shops, a farm shop, village stores, a number of excellent tea rooms and of course the famous Hartington cheese shop!

Ash Tree Cottage is well situated for exploring the White Peak of the Peak District, with miles of footpaths, quiet lanes for cycling or pretty villages to enjoy. The bustling town of Bakewell – famous for its puddings! – is also just 20 minutes away by car.

Ash Tree Cottage is also perfectly placed to explore the beauty spot of Dovedale. A gentle stroll from the cottage will take you along the river through Beresford Dale, Wolfscote Dale, Mill Dale and into Dovedale. The stunning scenery and abundance of wildlife around the clear waters is breathtaking at any time of year.
