The Jervis Arms is a family-run village pub set on the banks of the River Hamps in the pretty Peak District village of Onecote. It has recently been refurbished by the proud new owners, opening its doors in July 2024. The Jervis Arms welcomes children and dogs, meaning that the whole family can enjoy good food in friendly surroundings in the most beautiful setting.

The Jervis Arms

Wonderful Inside and Out!

Whether you’re looking for the charm of a cosy village pub with a traditional feel or a beer garden to enjoy a refreshing drink in the summer, The Jervis Arms has it all!

Inside, you’ll find a newly renovated pub, retaining and enhancing the natural features such as stone walls and wood panelling, providing a friendly, cosy atmosphere, with the warmth of a roaring wood burning stove. The ideal pit stop after a walk in the surrounding Staffordshire countryside.

The outside space at The Jervis Arms is just as special, with its tranquil riverside setting. Stroll over the quaint bridge which spans the River Hamps and enjoy the relaxing beer garden. The perfect place to relax with a cool beer or a tempting cocktail!

Home Cooked Meals and Daily Specials

The menus at The Jervis Arms are exactly what you would hope for from a village pub, with a great choice of home-cooked favourites and regular daily specials. There really is something for everyone and the little ones will be more than happy!

Lunch is served Wednesday to Saturday from 12pm to 4pm with a range of lighter bites such as freshly made sandwiches and chips or soup and toast, right through to burger and chips or toasted ciabatta with prawns.

Dinner is served Wednesday to Saturday from 6pm to 8pm/8.30pm, again with a great choice of starters and mains. Begin with delicious starters such as chef’s hand rolled spring rolls, or delicious crispy prawns. Followed by mains such as roast chicken with Grumpy Farmer’s goats cheese on pan fried gnocchi or a local Richard Barlow rib eye steak. With daily specials, you’ll always find vegetarian and gluten-free options too.

The Jervis Arm’s Sunday lunch is already incredibly popular, served every Sunday from 12pm to 7pm. After your starters, you can enjoy a choice of roasts including lamb with mint sauce, local topside beef, chicken supreme, pork with crunchy crackling, and a weekly vegetarian special. All are served with mouthwatering roast potatoes, roasted vegetables, fluffy Yorkshire puddings and the option to choose extra sides such as creamy cauliflower cheese.

With the generous portions, you’ll probably be stuffed, but if you’ve still got room for dessert you’ll be spoilt for choice with so many favourites, such as daily hot puddings and cheesecakes, brownie, apple pie and roulade.

Be sure to keep your eye on The Jervis Arm’s website for weekly specials such as Wednesday’s Fireside Warmers, The Carnivores Club, seasonal events and Christmas dining in front of a roaring fire!

Well Stocked Bar

The team at The Jervis Arms are proud of their well stocked bar, with a wonderful selection of wines to pair with your meal, and a great choice of spirits for a little after-dinner tipple. For those popping in for a pint, you’ll be spoilt for choice with a range of bottled beers, and cask ales from local brewers.

For those fancying something a little warmer, teas, coffees and hot chocolate are available too.

Fabulous Children’s Menu

The ‘’Little Larder’’ menu at The Jervis Arms will definitely keep the children happy! With light snacks such as hummus with cucumber and carrot, or good old-fashioned beans on toast, there’s something to suit the smaller appetites. For those who are a little hungrier, there’s all the usual winners such as fish and chips and bangers and mash, not to forget sweet treats for a clean plate such as chocolate brownie or one of Bev’s homemade gingerbread peeps!

There’s also a great ‘’Sunday’s Little Larder’’ menu too, where children can enjoy their favourites or a little roast dinner.
