Open Plan Country Living

You will feel at home as soon as you enter Angel’s Cottage!  The open plan space is so inviting, with underfloor heated flagstone floors, timber beams, rustic stone walls, and a fabulous fireplace taking centre stage with a warming wood-burning stove. There’s plenty of seating for four, with a comfy sofa and two stylish armchairs, perfect for gathering at the end of the day to watch your favourite shows on the wall-mounted smart TV.

The kitchen at Angel’s Cottage continues the country feel with wooden effect worktops and a Belfast sink. The kitchen is well equipped with all modern appliances including hob, oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, washing machine and dishwasher. There is also plenty of cupboard space with all essential pots, pans and crockery to enable you to prepare meals, ready to be enjoyed at the dining table.

Two Stylish Bedrooms

There are two stylish bedrooms at Angel’s Cottage. A spacious king-sized room, with feature fire place, and a great second bedroom with bunk beds, making this an ideal cottage for couples and families. Each of the rooms has a modern feel with comfortable beds and crisp, clean linens.

Also on the first floor is a contemporary shower room with a large walk-in rainwater shower, sink and toilet.

The cottage has full central heating, making it warm and cosy throughout.

Two Outdoor Seating Areas

There are not one but two outdoor spaces at Angel’s Cottage. To the front, there is an elevated terrace with bistro table, which is a lovely sun trap in the evenings, making it the perfect place to relax with a glass of wine or a refreshing beer at the end of the day. 

To the rear, there is a secure courtyard, great for those bringing well-behaved dogs or younger children. Here there is also a Mediterranean style shelter where you can relax with a morning coffee, or enjoy an alfresco meal in the evening on the barbecue, whatever the weather! For those who like to cycle, bikes can be safely stored in the courtyard, so you can enjoy the many cycling trails in the area.

Roadside parking is available on a first come first served basis.

Fabulous Village Location

Tideswell has everything you could wish for in a traditional Peak District Village. Just a five minute stroll from Angel’s Cottage are village pubs serving food, a fabulous award-winning restaurant, a lovely café, a handy Co-Op shop, a butchers, a bakers and a small selection of independent shops. If you’re visiting in May, the annual food festival, with delicious, locally-produced food and drink and other activities, is well worth a visit! Tideswell is also home to the ’Cathedral of the Peak’, a magnificent church that takes centre stage in the village, which is a popular visitor attraction with beautiful grounds, and if you get the opportunity to go to the top, the views of the surrounding countryside are sensational!

Another short stroll takes you to one of the quaintest villages in the Peak District – Litton, a gorgeous little village with a village green, surrounded by pretty stone cottages, another fabulous village pub, and a delightful shop/tearoom owned and run by local residents.

The countryside surrounding Angel’s Cottage is beautiful. The lush green fields are separated with a network of limestone walls, providing an abundance of farm life and wildlife to see. Tideswell Dale, Cressbrook Dale and Millers Dale are just some of the places within walking distance, and The Monsal Trail is close too, perfect for those who enjoy cycling.

For those who like to browse the shops, the market town of Bakewell is just a 15-minute drive away and the delightful spa town of Buxton is just 20 minutes away, where you can also admire the magnificent architecture and perhaps take in a show at the Buxton Opera House. The historic plague village of Eyam is fascinating and well worth a visit, which again is just a 10-minute drive. No trip to the Peak District is complete without visiting Chatsworth House, with its beautiful, landscaped gardens and wonderful deer park, which is a great place for picnicking and a family day out in the countryside.
