Surrounded by the beautiful Peak District countryside, The Poachers Arms is a former pub in the most stunning location, right in the heart of the Hope Valley. Now converted into a warm, spacious country house sleeping up to 30 people, it’s an excellent base for family get-togethers, large groups exploring the local area or for private business retreats. There’s a fantastic selection of indoor facilities to keep everyone entertained, and an amazing undercover bar, BBQ and hot tub area, over looking the beer garden with children’s play area – so everyone is guaranteed to have a fun filled time!
The Poachers Arms offers comfortable accommodation for up to 30 people, with 9 en-suite double bedrooms. The bedrooms are all beautifully appointed and have spacious en-suite facilities, with Freeview TVs and fibre broadband.
Two family rooms are available: one with a double bed and four adult-size bunks and a further room with a double bed and two adult-size bunks.
For those who don’t wish to climb stairs, there is also a room located on the ground floor. This is also perfect for younger children in a group who want to be closer to the grown-ups.
For larger parties of 24 and over, The Poachers Arms also offers 3 double sofa beds in the lounge. A travel cot can also be provided.
At The Poachers Arms there is no shortage of large, comfortable lounge areas to relax in, whether you want to laze in front of the fire after a hard day walking in the Peak District or enjoy some entertainment streaming a film on the 40” smart TV. There’s also a digital radio and CD player with speakers throughout the ground floor.
The spacious kitchen at The Poachers Arms has plenty of equipment to cater for large parties, including two range cookers, two microwaves, two toasters, an American fridge freezer with ice machine, two dishwashers, two kettles and a mains-filled hot water boiler, to save time waiting for a cuppa. There’s also a washing machine and tumble dryer for if you get a bit grubby climbing Mam Tor!
The main dining area is in the bright, airy conservatory with ample seating for up to 30 people to sit together around one large table. This space also doubles up as a conference room. In the kitchen further dining space is available around a large island with bar stools, as well as extra tables and chairs for breakfast get-togethers.
Add in an adult-sized table football game and an original working bar (barrels of beer, lager and cider can be provided at cost price), and you’ve got the perfect place to relax inside!
You won’t be disappointed with everything you’ll find outside either. There’s a covered hot tub on the patio just outside the conservatory, perfect for soothing away the day, as well as a charcoal barbecue and picnic tables for social outdoor gatherings.
There is a secure shed, with plenty of room for your bikes and other outdoor equipment.
There’s no need to worry about car parking either – The Poachers Arms has its own private car park which can easily hold 25 cars!
Children are very welcome at The Poachers Arms! After a day exploring the Great Outdoors, the younger ones in your party can enjoy the Children’s Corner with a smart TV, Play Station 3 and games, board games, books, children’s air hockey and table-football table. There’s also a safe and secure outdoor children’s play area, with a slide, swings, a small climbing wall and an outside table tennis table.
The Poachers Arms is situated between the lovely villages of Hope and Castleton, in the stunning Hope Valley. Hope boasts a couple of village pubs, two cafes, a farm shop, outdoor activities shops, gift shops, a greengrocers, a village shop, a delicatessen and an Indian takeaway, all which are within a short walk of The Poachers Arms.
Walking in the other direction takes you into the honeypot village of Castleton, with an ever wider selection of pubs, restaurants, gift shops and cafes. Castleton also boasts a historic Norman ruined castle, Peveril Castle, and no fewer than four show caverns.
When you stay at The Poachers Arms, the beautiful rolling hills of the Peak District are right on your doorstep, with fantastic walking country around Mam Tor.
